A trend I've seen in most recent day OTs (and the old ones too) is a complete lack of originality. Game-play, monsters, mapping has always either been the same or with very little variance. Only once have I ever come across an OT that I had to relearn all of the items, monsters, progression rates etc. which was Goobers OT - renown for it's crappy mapping but vast community and uniqueness. Here's an idea I came up w/ a while back, I still think it's a good idea. Random/lottery spawns! This would be represented as some form of icon on the map w/ a list of possible monsters to spawn, each w/ a percentage of chance to spawn. TES: Morrowind has a similar system for spawning some monsters (seen in the CS as ninja-monkeys), though the spawns are determined on the players level rather than randomly. Seeing the trend at both forums to release crazy spells w/ effects nearing the hundreds, I decided to release a couple of balanced spells in which players may be inclined to use. Do note however, that all spells presented should be modified to suit your own needs and that more spells will come in due time - I've had very little time to make anything new atm. Hate to start my new blog on such a dull note, but I thought I could vent some of my annoyance through here. I was recently banned from the community for a period of several weeks without a warning of any kind for over achieving in the games arcade.
