if i have the datapack, docs, config.lua, the dlls, does it matter what distro i have? I recently purchased TFS 0.4 rev so if i throw it in the folder will it run smoothly? ... or do i have to do some extra things to make it work?

Depence on from which version they are, if it's from TFS 0.2, it won't work, if the files are from TFS 0.3, most of it will probable work fine.
