Alright, my new gaming laptop arrives in a couple of hours and I need to know what OS is better performance-wise (multitasking, using up full potential) etc.

Here are the computer specs:
FHD AntiGlare
Intel Core i7-4700 MQ
3.40GHz/6MB
1x8GB DDR3-1600 (will add 8 more eventually, if necessary)
1TB 5400rpm + 24GB SSD
2x GeForce GT755M 2GB-DDR5
Wireless b/g/n
Bluetooth V4.0
720p HD Webcam
2xUSB 3.0 / USB2.0/ HDMI / VGA
batt 6cell2.7kg, ENG Backlit

Win8 is included, but the question is if it's better than windows 7?

I had the same situation when I got my gaming laptop, I had windows 8 to start with but after few days I've decided to install win 7 instead ( I don't regret that).

I haven't tried windows 8 but I've read what windows 8 is supposed to be.
And as a programmer, windows 8 is the death of my passion, so no, fuck 8, I stick with 7.

windows 8 has many bugs :(
first bug for example
and i don't know why
i can't boot any windows after that fucken windows 8

Windows 8 is the new "you may only use us, and you must use the latest version or we kill you!"

hahaha
the problem is
i want to install windows 7
i have original CD of windows 7

and my windows is 8 Original too

but i can't make fucken boot for windows 7 :(
it can read CD with boot
but i choose CD
it's continue to windows 8 xD

restart computer, before windows is loaded, you'll have a menu.
chose "boot options" or similar, it use to be on either ESC, F1 or F12.

sometimes you only get 1 option that's called "Menu".
Restart your pc and check for it.
you may have to restart the computer few times if you're not fast enough pressing the req buttom to run the menu.

Once you get menu, look for "boot from DVD" or something similar.

Winxp

Topic: Win 7
Well I've used win xp (which is way more efficient on this old computer), but windows 7 started supporting more stuff. I couldn't even install diablo 3 with xp... One of the reasons I moved onto 7.

I was using windows 7 for years and I needed to install windows 8 for Windows Phone SDK. I did it 5-6 months ago, but I left my windows 7 on another partition, becasue I wasn't sure that newest 8 will satisfy me. After 1 month of using windows 8 for SDK and 7 for rest of things, I decided to stick with 8, becasue it was much faster and easier to use after some time. Although I still have my old 7 on disk, I haven't booted it for ~3 months. By the way, after patch 8.1 I haven't seen any problems with mine win 8.

Haha, forceinstall linux or something :)
just a basic install, the lightest.
as fast it's done, do the boot menu thing again.

Eum, just wondering, do you get the install menu at all, or is windows 8 loaded right after you chose to load DVD?

look i press ESC and i got Boot Menu
and when i choose CD
it's never load windows 7
but continue to windows 8

and i installed this CD in other laptops and pcs and work perfect

Do it over for a few times, it happens to me too sometimes that it continue to load the main OS instead of DVD.
if that doesn't help, do the linux trick I told you, anything that will concur windows out of the game "king of the hill"
