Hello,

I've bought a plasma tv 42inch (1024x768) but mine laptop resolution is (1920x1200)
I've connected it with my vga cable, my laptop supports hdmi but mine TV doesn't
But i've heard with a converter it will screw up the screen... is this true?
What can i do to get it the same quality as my laptop does?

How do i get it the same color/sharpness with my tv?

kind regards,

Lagmacun

P.S. please do not tell me to buy a better tv i didn't know..

Watching HD video's looks allright, but if i look to mine desktop or tibia it looks like a little blurry or atleast i think because its a different screen to me...

Also i cannot merge 2 screens in 1 if so, it will be flipped... i cannot also change the resolution... i can only extend my screen...

If your TV is 1024 by 768 there is nothing you can do about the resolution. Using a HDMI cable/adapter doesn't change the fact.

You probably have some settings on the TV to change the color profile, but the resolution is what it is.

If your TV only supports VGA, using a converter for HDMI will not make any difference.

Using converters does nothing. I use them all the time. Right now my TV on a DVI to HDMI and in the past I've used DVI to VGA as well as S-Video to Component with absolutely no problems.

Thanks all for your replies.. i am happy with it after all.. quality looks good im just not used with desktop and/or tibia with it..

You said you can't change resolution, but you didn't say why. If you can change your resolution down to 1024 x 768 on your laptop. The TV will be a lot sharper. Right now it's blending pixels to display them, that's why it's blurry. But if you probably won't like Tibia at 1024 x 768. You'll miss those 400 vertical pixels. afaik there's no way to shrink or expand the gui.

Thats not true, you can tell the GPU to send the image with the destination resolution, you can have 2 screens conected with differents resolutions.

And you can re-escale and force your monitors to have a higher resolution if you really wants to. I have a laptop with 1280x800 max base. and now it is 1440x900
