I like to watch Prison Break, 24, Revolution, Person of Interest, The Following and the Walking Dead. All of those are TV series. I prefer to watch a few episodes and decide then which you would like to start watching.

How I Met Your Mother is a show I wouldn't recommend. You will enjoy first 3 seasons thoroughly, be bitter the next 3, and when the end comes it will be the biggest disappointment of your whole life. Not worth it.
 
First Stargate don't let season 1 kill it for you, just skip season 1 if you want. Then Stargate Atlantis. After you've done this there's Star Trek TNG/DS9/Voyager/Enterprise. DO NOT watch Startrek first, you have to slowly introduce your mind to amazing scifi then you'll be able to watch the Star Treks. Your life will be changed forever <3.

Since I think you are Swedish if you like movies like Beck and Wallander I recommend those to 100%..
And tbh the best series I have to say was chuck(watched that serie about 5 times I think) and Breaking bad.
