This topic is just another critic to the people who think that use bot is a cool way to play.
You don't need to search much to find videos like that:

This video show not a player playing but a computer, if you see the mouse icon the only thing he does is to select the target, so I'm wondering where this grace to play that way?
I guess I'll never understand what's cool about it, you boast of something that the computer conquered !!

So i ask the community whats the point by playing this way?
 
And go figure, I'll bet this is an 8.6 server, it's even sadder that the server owners don't care about botting.

Go tell Mark, whos running a 9.63 where he pretty much encourages botting. He if anyone got the skills to make it unable to even load a bot to his client, yet he dosnt do anything about it.
Most people want to make some money on their OTs, and if for example mark would enforce a non-botting policy, he wouldnt have anything close to the number of players he got now. Same goes for the rest of the OTs out there. If you want two people playing your server, make it unable to bot on. Simple as that

The key is regulation. You can't completely do away with botting (cheating), no matter what preventative measures you take. And besides, why would he jeopardize what has been accomplished by strictly enforcing a 'no bot' policy? If he did so, there would probably be 100 people online instead of 700. I don't support cheating, but I'd rather see a successful up-to-date server, than 10,000 8.60 piece of shit servers.

As I said in some other thread, the only way to actually do away with bots for your OT is to use a client version of which no bot is yet compatible with. And even then, you'll have those who may create something to cheat.

On-topic: It is a shame to see that bots have become so integrated with Tibia, Tibia itself is no longer the same - the whole game has... transformed.

I see a lot of people saying that impossible to bring old times back, maybe this is true but we can make a better game, enjoyable not only for botter but for both.

I See your point, and I totaly agree with it, I just wanted to make a point to Evan's post. It dosnt matter what the server version is, if people wanna bot, they will bot, and there are bots out there for all client versions.
 
While you are right, botters will always be there, even in custom clients (we've seen it in Pokemon Online).
8.6 servers are the easiest to bot on, simply because of the wide variety of bots being compatible, especially ElfBot (which is not compatible for anything higher than 8.6).

I've been making points and criticism for anyone using 8.6, I usually never personally help anyone (unless you're a friend of mine) with issues on 8.6 servers in boycott/protest.
I just never understood the reason for people to keep hosting 8.6 servers. 9.63 has everything an 8.6 server has, the only difference is additional sprites for monsters and items and other core systems.

whats the problem with bot? xd I mean just because bot heals u and makes you run faster thats a big deal?
I mean wtf? if people want to use bot let them use bot.

okey.. There is magebot :) magebot works for all versions here you can see all the clients versions: http://tibiadb.com/
also.. even tho you make ur own client I can still use magebot :) and dont ask me how :D..
so what you just said you dont help people because they host 8.6 servers because of bot..
you should not help people with 9.63 servers because people still use bot :D

There as so many reasons why ppl bot and reasons that why OTSERVERS allow botting.

1. Bot=People Online
2. lets say that x botter is your top lvl, what he really want? get high lvl, go pk, and maybe buy donation stuff good for the OT
3. Players dont conplain about bot, they say you "hey i saw a bot" nothing important.. and in cases they say you "man do your work this guy botting crys crys retire"

what i do in my server ppl that i see botting i put a bounty in his head ;)
 
no offense but people are stupid...

It's easy to start up a non-botted server and gain players to it..
-"OMG Noo!! I saw OT started ban botters and now dedek very ded look!!"

Well.. if botters was allowed at start, everyone that didn't start in the beginning because of bots, wont start later either because the moment of mood for that server died long ago = no new players.
That's the failure ALL server does..

How to do it right, is to make sure there wont be botters at all.. not even in the start, focus everything to bitch-slap every botter even after 1 second of online time.
As many of you sure heard of, the First Impression of the server, is the One Thing that will say if the server will be successful or not.
And for most people that want to play fair, they'd get a fucking awesome feeling, if the server starts and already after few seconds seeing people getting deleted :)
Also, the key to success is to have the same policy for all players, no exceptions, especially against entire guilds who threats you to quit unless unban/w.w
Same with friends, family and even lovers... same rules to all!

You're getting the wrong idea, that's exactly not why I'm not helping people with 8.6.
 
Hopefully when tibia once shuts down, someone will continue tibia but with avoiding bots
