starter town is a circle I mean....4 screen wide. If you cant map it yourself its just not the server for you. You have temple and blacksmirth in middle surround by houses and shop.a 3min walk on lvl 8. Then you have the boat south east/task giver. (20sec walk on lvl8).

If you want more players to join and stay on a custom they need directions, also not everyone reads otland. Helping out players with where to find starter hunt spots (cycs, dwarfs, rotworms) should be no problem and NPCs. One of the reasons people play that much realmap over custom is because they know the map and where to hunt, especially at the start.

Once someone is higher level and is a bit further they are more likely to stay then a fresh created character of lvl 8 that quits because he doesn't know where to go.
 
well you really cant miss it...walk 3 squ out of temple. Use sewer. Hunt rootworm. Or go straight thrue the only exit and find whatever noob shit you want. Basically the whole map is filled with crap shit. The problem is not finding a hunting spot for low levels really...the problem is finding the right spot when your higher level.

Adding either an NPC which will mark your minimap or something else, we'll figure it out.

Also please get the current areas fully developed with: all quest working, fixing rope holes, etc. It is frustrating to see you make new areas without making sure everything is working properly on the current areas. People generally see this as a "Lack of thoroughness" rather than an "enthusiasm to increase map content". I enjoyed the server a lot, even with the frustrating bugs(He normally had them all fixed by the next server save for anyone worrying about it).

About the tutorial, I personally believe that all questions new players have can be answered on Game-Chat. An active Game-Chat promotes a strong community. This is needed more in a custom server than in a RL-map.

I appreciate your concern regarding sprites etc, however we wanted to create a server with more options than 7.4 but with the same gameplay.

Considering bugs, you are talking about simple yet very normal bugs that occur. There hasn't been any major issue. All of them has been a faulty with either a small stone lying on top of a hole which made rope not work on the hole. Very simple stuff, and I've always fixed it instantly for those who encountered this stuff. Not after serversave as you suggest.

And about quests, there is only one quests which isn't workin as intended due to a script error. However this NPC wasn't even suppose to be on the map yet. Only reason he was put in to the game was because we've decided to reset the server. Otherwise I always check NPC/Map and other stuff on our testserver before it's on the live server.

Magic 4x skills 5x is extremely unbalanced. Skills are meant to be double what magic is in this version. Otherwise you will see highscores of people with 75 average and 80 high skills yet magic 60 avg and 70 high. Nobody had 70 magic ever in 7.4, except a very small select few that were extremely old characters. 100 skills = 70ish magic.

Melee damage is probably higher, so you don't need that high melee skill to achieve balanced damage.

This is true I am sure, and it is like that on a lot of servers. However I personally myself am a real old school player, and with that being said I want to have 90-100 skills. It's part of being a real old school knight. If you didn't play eks back in 7.4 you wouldn't understand.

I played EK during 7.4 for sure, however if you played EK on old school you also know that having 90-100 skills requires a lot of time.

There is no need to lecture me about oldschool, that's the only time I played this game. Check when I joined this forum. Check when I joined otfans

kung i would say balance knights a bit, and lower magic a lil, because as i was playing this time i saw how paladins were oping, with 5x skills they'll achieve 100 distance in no time, and knights will take a long time before we can actually start hunting, also dragons hit insane damage, also can you please create the upgrades page, where we know how to upgrade certain eq and what each upgrading item is for

Server starts Friday since that's the day we set from start. And characters are wiped on Thursday just as promised in the thread.

I do understand it's annoying to wait when you want to play :) But think how much more fun it will be since you've waited! :) Delayed gratification brother! :)

Manafluid are 55gold my friend...you don't really need manaregen all that much. Rune are also extra charge. Not 2x but like hmm 8x/gfb 3x/sd1x/explo 5x (but they really suck big time DO NOT PLAN ON USING THEM). It feels like a an high low rate when you actually play it. 1h per lvl at 55 and even faster then that if paladin. That's using HMM/GFBs for lvl. You could probably lvl faster just gfbin cyclop but I got bored of it after 500task.
