Which tibia client is the best for a hardcore ots? An oldschool one, but with some new features

Hello,

Since I've learned the basic basics, now is the time to decide, on which client I should start (mapping) building my server.

The server will have editet RL map ( with one, huge city, around Dwarven Bridge) - the rest cities will be spawned by city-based mobs (Knights/Archers of Thais etc)

The server will have some new features such as :

-"metin" stones ( randomly spawned magical stones, spawning group of certain <biom accurate> mobs when attacked etc.)

-Upgrading system of eq (The base dmg/armor of eq will be lowered to, for example, 50%, and they would be upgraded to, for example 110% of base power)

- some new quests, pvp arens, IMPORTANT PVP- arena rankings for certain lvls (max 20, max 50 etc.) (top 1 will have some special rewards each month)

- upgradable spells (would work simillar like items, base power 50%, max 110% or so)

- few spells rework (utani gran hur would, for example, give you a significant boost KICKING YOU to the direction you have faced while casting the spell, stopping when you git an obstacle / change direction)

- fishing become more important, as a way to relax, grind & earn

So, the server would be slow paced, actually slower than RL tibia - the exp would be lower (0,5x for example) and it would be more hardcore (since your base eq/spell power would be at 50~%) , but with extra things too grind. It WOULD HAVE HOTKEYS for items (to keep it more rpg/grindy than arcade)

Now the question is, which client AND WHY would be the best for such server? I would like to keep the oldschool feeling, but keep some newer sprites to build the world with. Some islands (as yalahar or smth) could be, ofc, deleted or revamped.

+ I have to find possibly the best RL map to have as a fundament, put my (already done) mapping there and remap it further.

Will apreciate your ideas, which client? Why that one exactly and not the other one?

For now I'm thinking about 8.0 (with some new sprites added) ... but its simply because it has the best rl map I was able to find myself. Ofc, I would use OTclient

Best regards and thanks in advance for your opinions.

I'm making mine with 8.6 atm
I would say latest or atleast something over 8.60 but not 7.x
Ok guys, but why? And have you found some decen't 8.6 map?

and btw. if I understand it correctly... whichever "tibia" I choose, if I use OTclient, the tibia client 8.0 or 8.6 or whatever is ONLY about sprites I wil have, nothing else - the rest is in TF's...

am I right? or someone teach me xd

Fkey hotkey systems w/ lock on runes so that's middle of the road.. Also still has elements, additional wands/rods, multiple pots, and stat increase potions. Has enough newer mobs and all the base mobs. TFS 8.6 versions are super customizable too. I went from 7.6 ots to 8.6, though play a fair amount of regular Tibia, though 8.6 seems middle of the road to me between like 7.1 where people I played with consider "old school" vs the retail version of the game.

I wonder, have you any experience with 8.0 and its TFS? is it less (much?) customizable? Why not 8.0, if 8.6 ? I don't like the stats increasing potions, for example

If there's a TFS distro 0.4 or newer that can handle 8.0 it should be able to handle what you're looking for. I'm using 0.3.6 atm but have had to do quite a few work arounds, mainly with onUse functions

Why not just get the most recent? Do you want to avoid recent stuff like wheel of destiny?
Because I'd rather have a recent tfs that has lots of fixes+ a nice OTC version, just disable some stuff on the UI so the players cant do things you dont want them to do
