Anyone else getting the tibia.exe file deleted by your antivirus program?

It happens to a lot of updated/new clients that are not yet "registered as safe" by the anti-virus softwares.
I'm sure it'll be considered safe within the next 24-48 hours, just tell your anti-virus to ignore it in the meantime.

it never happened to me before and I use the same AV program for 5 years by now :/

AVs are constantly updating their virus signatures. Just because it never flagged a trustworthy exe before doesn't mean it won't in the future. This was obviously a false-positive. Contact your AVs support and let them know so that they can update their signatures for it.

ended that it wasn't my AV that deleted it lol, it just disappeared suddenly and I'm still trying to figure out how it happened... not really xD thanks guys lets just move on

or maybe there is now something in the client that monitors your behavior on the client... (not that, that is legal and ethical)
inb4 all bots banned

I have never installed a bot or anything else than tibiacast in my PC, so I guess not. (I'm a bot hater myself)

no i mean cipsoft may have added something to check FOR bots ;d Which again is unethical and unlawful

It's a new Malware they implemented to monitor packets and usage of their client, probably in anticipation detecting botting, hence the significant increase in deletions since, the latest being nearly 100,000 accounts.

Was it Win32:Evo-gen [Susp] that was detected?

Isn't that an invasion of privacy by CipSoft?

Ah, touche. Given that 99% of the people don't read the agreements, this might come as a surprise to someone. Reminds me that I should really start reading those when installing software on my computer ;-;
Make sure if you're using a Mac or any apple software that you aren't using it to build nukes. They explicitly tell you that you can't use their software to build nukes :p

Their agreements also imply that you are simply using an account and character to play the game, and that you do not own anything. In other words, they can do whatever they wish for whatever reason, and do not need justification for such actions. o_O

and by the way banning almost 100k characters is not really a big thing since let's say (suppose) that 80% of it consist of a bunch of lvl 3/8 that spam private messages or run casinos.

"In April, 62311 accounts have been deleted for using unofficial software to play."

That's a lot of accounts.

25181 in March, 17226 in February, 6482 In January. That's 10x the amount in only 3 months. There's no way there's that kind of increase in the creation of casino and spam accounts in that short of time, they're clearly catching more that already existed

There's definitely nothing in the client that is telling CipSoft that you are using a bot, at least I haven't seen anything. Besides, if there was anything, DarkstaR (owner of XenoBot) would have noticed and been the first to tell everyone. Also, if they added anything they would have to update their ToS, and they would have to inform users of those changes.
