According to otserverlist the minority you talk about it's actually majority... :) Btw no one says that they should shut down tibia 11 servers, they just can try relaunching 7.6 for example

At this moment there is about 680 players on 7.1 - 7.6 server and about 9000 players on 7.1 - 8.6 versions, with ~7500 playing solely on 8.6 version. Total number of players on all servers is about 17700, so 7.6 players are in minority and the number of 7.1 - 8.6 players barely classify as majority. Giving example of relaunching 7.6 server was poor choice. And even if we assume relanuch of 8.6 version, there is still the matter of many servers not being vanilla servers. Most of the server on 8.6 version have a lot higher rates and other features like custom map, fast attack system or others. That confidence of yours shouldn't exist.

well i guess one of the reason why barly noone wants to play 1x exp otserver is that there's much less guarantee that the server goes down and you will lose all time invested than on rl tibia.

There's thousands and thousands of oldschool players.
There's probably right now 5k players online in oldschool servers, Medivia for one has 2+k alone.
And there's a shitload of retired oldschool players that either don't play OTs anymore or play 8.6+ because there's most players there, but all of whom, would not with an blink of an eye, create a character in a <7.7 world in tibia.com if they opened one.

I bet, if CipSoft made an EU and USA 7.7 server right now, without launching it, there would be 20,000 characters created within a week.

Don't use in that general manner of yours. It doesn't make any sense. 7.1 is not 7.6 and it is not 8.6. Don't fuse it into one giant blob of preferences, because only ~7000 play on 8.6 version and You don't have any proofs to say that rest of the players would switch and also play on 8.6

Besides, I think you don't really understand the term "old school". It means that EVERYTHING must be done just like in older versions. This includes rates. 7.6 Server with 999x rates is not old school. The only old school version of 7.6 is server with 1x rates.

This is just yet another hypothesis made by yet another OtLand user disconnected from reality of dying community of this game. People tend to grow up and lose interest in video games. Especially from games that requires a lot of time and at the same time don't look so good. Don't expect them to come back. This is just wishful thinking.

I like how You weren't bald enough to say that it will get 20k of players online, so you went with slightly more reasonable amount of created characters xD
 
@Arashel there is around 1300 players online in medivia (1x/2x/1x and one midexp sv 7x) and on own tibia have 3500 right now...

Look medivia. I know it's custom but look at theris SMS shop and compare it to other 2weeks, p2w otservers. Medivia isn't p2w. You can only buy premium like on real tibia. Can you see how many ppl play there?

The only thing I can agree with you it's that tibia community is dying ;) but looking at numbers on otservers it's not so bad yet.

It because very few people bother to play that old game. There is currently 14,000 online players on official tibia, otservlist and Medivia. This is ridiculously low amount of active players for any MMO. High ratio of Medivia players towards official players, doesn't mean that many people would play official Tibia in ~7.6 version. It means that ~1000 players more would play that game. It's nothing.
Also if Medivia is not clone of older Tibia and possess any new and additional mechanism, then You cannot just say that those players would join official Tibia. Old protocol is not the only factor that somehow overwrites any other aspects. If someone like OTS on ver. 7.6 with some new features, it doesn't mean that this person would love to play vanilla version. You're making connections between almost unrelated aspects.

And again... Most servers are not resemble old Tibia. Those are servers that use old client and have higher rates and other custom maps or mechanism.

Because They're not stupid and realize that this is the case of vocal minority which is loud about their preferences. Video game industry and technology is progressing. New waves of players don't like old/soundless games. New (so called "casual") changes to the Tibia kept it from dying in late 2000s/early 2010s.

Currently BE shielded worlds are the most populated, also, believe it or not we've been having a decent influx of completely new players plus those who are returning due to BE. So far people playing in the new worlds have been saying there's no bots. Hopefully that'll happen with Rowana, Garnera and Serdebra.

I'll be sure to try one of the BE shielded retro PVP worlds when free accounts are allowed.
 
So BE is now active in almost every world, anyone seen any difference in botting?
 
People abusing casks with auto refill and spellcasters, even on BE servers. Cannot be stopped unfortunately.

BattleEye can ignore macro recordings actually, I'm not sure why Tibia decided to disable that part.
When they first started fresh worlds with BattleEye, I tried out if it really protected against Macro, and so it did..
A simple macro was recorded, and once I enable playback and it took control over my mouse/keyboard, the tibia client acted like an image and not a client, mouse could click and move around but nothing happens ingame.
This part however, I noticed was gone some weeks ago.

So they did have a good way to ignore it, question is why they removed that part o_O

Maybe cipsoft is aware that no one will stay 12h clicking F1 and F2 to get 80 mlvl? Macro cant do shit tbh, it just replay ur mouse movement so it cant be harmful to people or affect the gameplay, maybe slightly. I would do the same.
They were disallowing, but doing nothing to prevent that (which in fact was allowing) botters for all these years, so I think it's like that for people to help them somehow.

Also after battleye was completely integrated into Tibia my ping jumped from 150-200 to 50-100, no idea if this is the reason tho.

Actually you can create a very simple bot using a macro recorder :)
If the macro contains functions to play another macro file, jump to, detect color by pixel, or pixel by color... then you can set up a very simple bot.
For instance, I could create mysel an auto-heal and auto-mana bot using only a macro recorder by pointing out which pixels should change color to trigger a hotkey command.

With that, you can also create auto-logout with correctly set-up battle list, you can make a simple autoloot and so on.

Only your imagination is your limit :)
 
I can suggest for "skilled botters" one great solution. And no one can stop you in that case and it's 1000% undetectable.
Those solution - called UOPilot. Programm, that developed originally (like Razor, UOAssist and etc) for Ultima Online. But nowadays it's still works for any game. Just one of UO Pilot features - screen pixel analyzes. You can make an minimap walker by waypoints. And other interesting things.

UO Pilot Pros & Cons.

PROS:
You can do everything if you know how.
Undetectable, cuz they are dont hooks into your game. It's simple emulate Keys press, mouse clicks and etc. As you do it manually.
CONS:
Not user-friendly, medium "enterance - level"
You CANT do anything else, while UOPilot script is active.
Hard to sharing scripts between users, cuz their clicks and scan coordinates based on your resolution and client window position.

But anyways, you may try. For example, i used that for making hotkeys (before Tibia hotkeys exists, UOPilot can send any text into chat: say "exura vita send Enter), auto-healing, auto runes auto-targeting, auto loot and simple walking on small area aka CaveBot. It's like a Tibia Auto, but undetectable and without hooks into client ;)
