I just started playing real tibia and to be honest, seeing a level 1100 passing by in the speed of light is too much! Cudoes to those players for even taking the time for that achievement but for the normal player as myself it just kills my motivation to even play.

I miss 7x - 8x clients. A level 80 is high and a level 100 is Amazing. My highest in those Days was 48 master sorcerer with magic level 45ish. It took me many hours of making runes to afford vampire shield/Demon shield and blue robe. Even buying a Bright sword(No wands or rods).

I Believe that higher exp than 1 makes the game imbalanced in both economy and game play. Tibia is a roleplaying game, not a "Finish any% World record".

Leveling slowly, online skilling with other players in remote places to avoid pk, making runes, not enough gold, etc, makes people talk to each other. Form Alliances. "I can make these for you and you only, for a X price and protection from other players". "Yes, sure that sounds good!". Friendships are created from people in different countries.

These were the good Days.

Real Tibia is Open Tibia and I hate it! But i still play Tibia because its Close to my heart.

Before, you had to put time in to your character, "Making a living" in a roleplaying game. It made complete sence to how the game was working. Nowadays if you have a wallet you can basically have 2-3x exp 2 hours Daily and you can get pleeenty of exp during this time. 2 hours doesnt sound much, but it is.

And yes, i opened my wallet for Tibia coins. Im no better than anyone else. The option is there, I have a full time job, why shouldnt I spend 10 dollars to get a few million gold coins?. Anyhow, its boring. My sence of progression is down to 1 from a scale of 1-10. No need for quests, no need for preperations, no need for anything. Everything you need to do is open your wallet and let the Tibia Store do the work for you!

I also understand the argument that its 2019, people are older and have other priorities in Life and Everything from a computer game should be easy mode because people dont have the same time for a game as when they were kids. This is bullshit. When the game was in its peaks, the game took the most time. When I was 11ish when this happened there was PLENTY of adults playing Tibia and they didnt complain. So whats the problem?

Things being EASY removes the sence of accomplishement and the feeling of being rewarded.

I totally understand that an Open Tibia server with 1x exp all levels would be slow. Very slow.
But there is other factors that could increase the speed of the lvling process without making high level numbers within the first week or two.

So first.
*Double spawn rate speed on monsters. (This makes it possible for more people in the same hunting spots without making the other person loose exp/h.(and you dont need as much hunting places in total))
*Decrease potion cost by 25-50% and increase potion effectiveness. (Spend less coins for more mana Points.)
*Increase the damage impact from each Level, skills and magic level. (More damage, faster kills, faster exp. (Of course if you first put the time in to get the skills))
*Make team hunts for number of players in that group and not depending on the amount of different vocations in that Group. (Encourage people to team up and make friends.)
*Wands and rods would be removed and instead really use the system of weapon enchantements, specifically for mages.

This is a discussion thread and I hope people would like this type of open Tibia servers. I know I would play it for sure.
If you as a developer Think you could make a cool server with this, please do. Would be aaaawesome.

EDIT:
A server like this would require deletion of Stamina / soul Points / Dailys(?) / Wands and Rods / Offline Training / Tibia coins.
Instead of Offline Training you could add Training dummies like old school monk trainers in a specific area. But this also only increase your fighting skill, not shielding and thats not ideal. right?

There have been attempts at servers like you speak of, or similar anyway. They never get enough players, people end up not liking how hard they are, they have to bot in order to make runes or macro etc. They just don't work out. I played back in the day too, the game was fun then, but now its just a good memory. I've attempted some newer OT servers and some old school remakes, Most are just cash grabs now. Time to move on to another game it seems.
 
Thats so sad to hear. But I Think there was an rl map server once with like 0.8x exp and it had like more players online than a regular Tibia server. Maybe Im wrong :p

I mean, like you said with runes. So easy to fix. Either increase mana regen, decrease mana cost or increase amount of runes from a single blank rune.
Making runes should be part of a mage's Life but not to the extent that it takes over it. You know what im saying?
