I personally like the setting very much and it's been fun so far.

In the meanwhile I am already thinking what to do next. Any ideas?
Underground areas for me are the most challenging parts, I always struggle due to a lack of motivation on these.
But that is missing the most on my maps, as you might have noticed lately.

My thread will probably be pretty inactive for the next week, I wish you a nice christmas time with your family and friends!

@Kuzyn This is it right now. But not a lot has been changed lately since I have almost only been working on the underground areas. And ofc the shapes of unfished areas are far from final. :)

At the moment I work on a giant spider spawn. If you go deeper in they will hunt you down.

Hello everyone :)

I have implemented another feature.
In addition to my supply bag drops, I have coded a while ago, I also wrote myself a new feature to my testserver.
This feature allows to rarely drop legendary items as you might know from Diablo.
There are sharp, special and legendary items. (the stats right now are simply to test the system)

You'll be able to find out more as soon as the alpha goes online.

In addition I am getting into dwarves.
Since I am looking for a new style, this is simply to try out some detailing.

I would like to see some more things that the dwarfs built like beams to hold up the cave and stuff like that, but I guess that you planned it in some parts of the cave system already.
Those brown mountains fits well, some alternative here and there wouldn’t be bad tho!

Overall this is a very nice style for dwarfs!
Can’t wait to see what you come up with for this one! :)

I sadly could not pick up on the cool structures and machines as of now. But they will surely be added to another area of the spawn.
But here are a couple of basic screenshots.

This is gonna be it for this month probably, which is why it's not 100% done. I will be busy with a business travel and work.
The rest of the time I am trying to get an entry for the contest done, anyhow I can't promise that.

That style is great for dwarves. I think the dirt borders should be on top of the rock borders (meaning id: 21605-21636). I also prefere to use rocks borders (891/902) on top of cliffs. You are one of my favorite mappers at the moment! You are always mapping clean because you use a maximum of 3 different ground types, perfectly choosen details and you are able to map lot's of different styles. Really educative for me :). Just wondering if this will be a project to go live anytime?

I kind of agree, I personally like a mix / overlapping borders the most and it can be done better as it is.
For me personally the most important factor is time in mapping. Keep it simple stupid. :p
I try to speed up the process as much as possible right now, since revamps/perfection can always be released in form of an update.

My goal is to get a certain state / maturity of the map in a couple of months. This project will go live as an alpha this year and is yet to be announced.
Once the map is tested properly I am going to release the map again as I always used to do. The server will then most likely stay online and all progress will be accessible.
When I started, Open-Tibia was more like a non-profit Testserver community and just like that I am trying to do offer a map to explore, to use on your own, some own-scripted systems and something to enjoy for everyone who wants to, even if only a few people will stop by from time to time.

I am in the second spot again and already look forward to the next competition :cool:, that I might not be able to join because I am currently having a break in mapping :(. No worries, I will be back active in 1-2 months. :)
