Tried to play for a couple of hours and it's really fun and custom but the only downside is the lag which I do hope you find a solution for later on

I assume it's the host which is located in africa or something
 
I am now in Zone 3, mining for Tier 4 gear. This is just getting better. Levels and progressions is so exciting. Loving it :)

The connection for EU players is so much better when connecting through the new IP. I hit level 80 today. Really enjoying it on here. It's so rewarding to actually get levels and getting good weapons that you can upgrade with crystals.

-Upgraded the enhancing system to include any rare, epic, legendary, etc paramaters
-Fixed a bug with smelting ore, causing results not to be true to their value in terms of success vs failure
-Solved the mysterious server crashing bug
-Removed warriors ability to equip Knight Shields (whoops)
-Added a variety of spells to multiple classes, bolstering their roles more effectively
-Added death resist to Knight Shields (was supposed to be on with elements)
-Areas added to every zone, but you will need a particular item to reach them
-New mobs added
-Blessing NPC added to Sarana
-added HP to warriors 2h weapons, Swords will have more HP than axes by a slight degree
-added HP to Daggers
-Adjusted random Mods and Enchanting to increase damage on quivers, daggers, and shields
-Released the full third titan dungeon, rare spawns added to the desert, and part of zone 4, the tundra are now available

I would say it's already enjoyable. It would be nice to have more "filler" content rather just the tiered content the server currently has, but everything about this project just is very "Era 1", which is quaint and nice. I would say that a lotttt about it reminds me of the early days of Archlight.

Anyway, I said it's more difficult than the average server, because it is. "The average" servers are designed to be able to be a lone wolf and be able to pretty much solo hunt your way to the top, and then at the top everything blooms into group content. Here, it's actually a hugeee benefit to have a tank and/or healer/dps combo because so much of the starter content can make someone feel squishy. And, as you said, even tkaing your route/idea, those GS are still very difficult, which is all I was saying. Difficult is good, and refreshing, because this is a unique and not cookie-cutter server.

nice server. a lot of custom content. 4/5. one "star" for not having custom sprites.
i used eu ip but there is quite a bit of lag. im playing sorc and monsters sometimes hit me from 2-3 sqm away when i run with them. running is also slow, map click works a lot better. its not a smooth gameplay but its playable.

yes i am. is there a way i can check my ping? OTclient have it in-built in client

EDIT: This post is redundant and the ping issue has been solved.

Most people that have tested that have used OTSclient, which is supported.
I opened up another connection line for people to try, and I had some luck with some others that normally had large ping. However, I'm unsure about EU. If you'd like, try Zalandaria.hopto.me / 7171, otherwise feel free to try any of the IP's, they're merely suggestions based on location, but others may work better for you. I may have to continue to hunt for a better line for EU players still, unless anyone has any suggestions :p

-Added Alchemy, Cooking, and Herb Gathering with level system.
-Reintroduced a tweaked fishing system to tie in with cooking
-Added an Aura spell for sages, healing nearby friendlies or attacking your targeted enemy, based on your choice.
-Level protection added for players level 30 and below - meaning no EXP or Item loss when 30 or below.
-High score books added for all skills above the main depot
-Fixed a major bug with tutorial / starting zone
-added !Bless
-added Maps that will set beacons on your minimap for each zone, easing exploration.

-Tundra (zone 4) overworld expanded to 4 main islands. You will need the grappling hook to traverse this zone.
-Added new island for low-mid level, Summerhaven, holding a quest for some t2 pieces to power your up before taking on the Expedition Mountains. To get to Summerhaven, speak to Captain Seabreeze.
-Various tweaks to starting monsters in zone 1 and 2 (nerf)
-3 new hunting spots in Zalandaria for low levels
-Added more grappling hook locations
-Adjusted cooked food weight / healing percentages (buff)

THE SERVER IS NOW LIVE ON A NEW-YORK BASED DEDICATED SERVER.
Huge shoutout to Don Daniello and his incredible tutorial on running a Dedicated via Linux

This has been a resounding success with the old Latency problems in regards to EU and south american players.

  • Finished release of the 5th island on the Tundra
  • 3 new Tundra quests, 1 being a small chain
  • Addition to the Miners Society (Tundra)
  • Leviathans and Aquadis (4th titan) join the monster list
  • 2 new NPCs located in the Tundra
  • New alchemy recipes
  • New cooking recipes
  • 30ish new items from equipment, materials, trinkets, to weapons
  • 4th mine access available
  • Adjusted loot on all Tundra monsters.
  • Adjusted ice witch EXP
-New spell for Sages & Warlocks, Fire aura.

4 new events:
-Zombie Survival
-Fire storm
-Gold Rain
-Bomberman
-Guilds have been patched and re-introduced to the game.
-Trainers will no longer mute you, however casting spells in the trainers will grant you 0 magic EXP. The trainers will train your magic level automatically.
-Trainers will now teleport you to depot when exiting the trainers.
-Trainers will now boot you to depot after 7.8999~ hours, to prevent auto relogging.
-.Exe recompile to iron out some bugs
-Dwarf rings and Energy Rings are now available in potion shop
- A secondary enhancing system that allows +10% bonuses of skills, dist, hp, mp, or mlvl. 2 bonuses per items inlcuding wands -- There is a gem available from the rune vendor that will wipe stats clean in regards to bonuses, at little to no cost. Note that "slot gems" are quite rare, and are most readily available from events.
**This system is completely separate from the normal +1-20 system which still exists. Applying slot gems / wiping them at any rarity (epic, legendary, etc) or any enhance level (+1 through +20) will result in no stat loss. The only thing wiped clean are the +10% bonuses.
- Donors will have the new talkaction "!shop", which will summon a supply NPC that sells some runes, potions, and buys all the equipment a blacksmith would buy -- with a long cooldown. This NPC is usable by any nearby player, regardless of donor status, and will vanish in 2 minutes after summoning.
-Added Autostacking
-Added "!autoloot"
-Revamped the main town to a small degree, including a new quest for lower levels.

-New Zone: Draculas Castle & Corrupted Castle
-10 new NPCs added in the new area, with some more to come
-Vampire Bats, Nightmare Spawns, Hand of Cursed Fate, Necromancers, Dark Priestess, Ferumbras Guard, Grim Reapers, Demons, and Ancient Dragons added
-New Worldboss added at the end of an epic 30 part quest-chain through the new zones. This boss has some fun mechanics, so pay attention to your surroundings!
-5 new trinkets added, along with 4 new weapons

-5 new materials added for crafting
-adjusted Ancient Weapon damage (buff)
-nerfed some starting area mobs, including wargs and some undead.

The long sought after Spells Update has finally arrived. With it come a variety of new spells for most classes.

Elementalist:
Blizzard, Ice Beam, and Pulse added

Sage:
Tree of Life, Earth Aura, and Terra Cage added

Warlock:
Doomsday, Hells Core, Super Sudden Death, Pulse added

Shaman:
Summon list, Hells Core, Pulse, Super Sudden Death added

Knight:
Holy Aura added

Warrior:
Bloodlust and Wind Star added

Archer:
Adjusted the damage on Mas San

Rogue:
Vampirism added

Aside this, we have our generic bugfixes:

-Added an NPC prior to entering the Corrupted Castle, to act as a checkpoint
-Fixed various text errors on signs throughout the map.
-Addressed a bug with the Ancient Mummy guarding the grappling hook not dropping the gates
-Fixed a bug with Aquadis loot chamber remaining closed after his death
-Fixed a typo on the Bone Key in the Corrupted Castle, making it unusable.
-Added the t5 dungeon loot room.
-Adjusted Yeti spawn, replacing most of the Frost Giants with Yeti on their island.
-Added crystal density to the t5 mines
-Added training dummies to the trainer squares
-Moved the highscore books for Alchemy and Cooking to the correct room with the other Highscore books
-Fixed a bug with relic bag lv2 randomly deciding to just eat items

This week was a doozy, and with the feedback of higher level players, the server was decided to be scrubbed clean with the addition of the changes below.

10-21-2020:
This week has been largely dedicated to ironing out small bugs that become apparent later in the game, along with some other frustrating bugs earlier starting out.
here's what's currently been added in the background, and what's to come
-Reduced all melee weapons base damage, including crossbows, daggers, quivers.
-Reduction of all monster's HP starting with the mountains.
-Reduce the spell formulas on all casters, with the exception of auras.
-The max level of an enhance stone has been reduced to +8, and chances of success have been adjusted accordingly.
-The above needed to happen, as there is a large disparity in damage output late-game. This also allows for much more fun creatures like Orkus to exist, without just being gigantic meat sponges
-Made the tutorial island blacksmith much more communicative of what steps need to be taken next during the mining portion.
-Added a gem that can turn any clean item into a legendary item.
-lots of small details, like adding level recommendations to maps, adding items to the blacksmiths selling table, new teleport scrolls for later-game, quest fixes regarding bosses overspawning
-Fixed the cookbook to display all learned recipes correctly.
-Added gambling NPC, which acts as a basic HIGH - LOW dice gamble for gold. Winning grants you 80% bonus of your bet, rounded down to the nearest 100.
-Added slot machines, which will cost 1000g per spin, and any 3-in-a-row combination will reward you a relic bag lv1-3, dependent of how good a 3-of-a-kind you got.
-Added "class specific" slot gems, where a sapphire will give MP / Mlvl, a Ruby will give Skills / HP, and an emerald will give Dist / HP, and an Amethyst will give Shield / HP. Gems will be interchangeable for a cost, and quests will be updated to include a choice of your gem instead of having it randomized. Gems can be used by any class to customize your builds.
-Added semi-class specific gear, which can now be found after defeating Titans.
-Added the ability to sell socket gems back to the Donation Shop, so that you may either choose another gem or stock up tokens.
-Added Grizzly Adams to the game, who currently holds 27 tasks with more to come. Tasks are repeatable!

Snippets from todays update:

A small patch for today!

-Fixed a bug with Ferumbras overspawning
-Increased rogues vampirism from 7% to 10%
-Changed the alchemist and cook to talk to you through NPC chat and not in default
-Added an addition reward to Tasks, called Hunter Tokens. The harder the task, the more coins recieved.
Hunter tokens can buy: Alchemy Supply Crates // Cooking Supply Crates // Enhancement Gems // Socket Gem Bags
-Hunter shop added to Zalandaria and Sarana.
-Added additional recipes for Alchemy, under the "master" class.
-Adjusted the loot rate on Relic Bag lvl 3 (buff)

11-04-2020:

Had a few crashes this week that were thankfully identified. Most of this week was dedicated to solving those issues and recompiling the server to add new functions.

Added an additional ping to the first map showing where zone 2 is
Fixed NPCs not buying stacked items
Added a taunt to Shamans Summons (raised corpse)
Add Gamechat, Help, and Trade chat auto-opening when logging in
Boosted the EXP gain from mining in zone 2, 3, and 4.
Adjusted Fierce Berserk on warriors so the damage window isn't as large. Max damage was un-affected.
Added a bot jail, where you will need to activate a timer to leave. The timer is exponential with every offense.
Grizzly Adams now allow you to cancel quests once above 2 kills
Boosted Task EXP Fixed some items not having the correct level attached to them
Added a new healing spell for Rogues (lvl 60+)
Fixed a bug with certain spells causing lag
 
11-11-2020:


-Changed Shaman Summons to not receive damage from the summoner
-Adjusted scaling spells to what is now listed below:
Deathmissiles lvl 1, 2, 3
Plague lvl 1, 2
Arcane Missiles lvl 1, 2, 3
Magic Arrows lvl 1, 2, 3

-Grapple hook can now be given back, if lost, from the relic collector
-Added two handed clubs back into the game for Warriors
-Fixed a bug with the "orc raid" quest, where if failed you could not re-attempt.
-Began the actual off-paper process of zone 6. Wew!

11-18-2020

QoL & Map Expansion time

-Adjusted spawn times in various locations through zones 2 and 3 (Crusaders, Cyclops, Minotaurs, vampires, some specific Dragon spawns)
-Adjusted the damage and spellcost of Barrage and Magic Arrows lvl 2 & 3
-Tweaked the spell "Apocalypse" to correctly target the player
-Fixed a mapping error in Ice Witches and the Crystal Spider Mines
-Fixed a bug with Utevo Lux conjuring the the power of the sun (lowered radius)
-Fixed the damage ratio with explosion runes
-Adjusted the dialogue for the gold mines to display which step you are missing in the quest (if one is missing)
-Added an additional level to the minotaur underground camp
-Added a map to the Desert, showing key spawn locations
-Rare spawns added to the Tundra (zone 4)
-Adjusted Slot Machines to reward a Jackpot Box for 3 of a kind, and a Super Jackpot Box for 3 cherries or lemons in a row.
-Additional mapping to the under-construction zone 6
 
The server might come off as very rough and somewhat amateur at start but i assure you its a really entertaining one, i think this is one of the very few original servers that can offer alot of diverse stuff to do and a fairly logical and steady sense of progression. The only downsides are the minor lag issues and the dungeon/mission design might be a bit annoying sometimes but the server is very much worth playing on. This might come off as a somewhat harsh statement but in my opinion this server is a good example of creating a fun and rpgish server wtihout taking the very time consuming and over the top style of "hyper immersive super detailed" rpg servers that have never really seemed to be created efficiently enough to provide a good experience. This is just sheer force of will and a good idea to make a server made into reality with loads of content to be enjoyed.
