[Module Idea] OTC VoIP

Is there any type of system / module for otc that has voip (push to talk) in the player's area with 3d audio? it would be a very interesting idea...

Yes it's a very interesting idea. At the time we don't have any module like that, and the fastest way is doing it with an external program working with client and sending to server that will lead the 3D ways.

I've started developing it on my server using simple C# VOIP's avaiable on github as opensource, but stopped sometime ago.

@imperianic that's exactly what I thought, "fastest way is doing it with an external program working with client and sending to server", I don't know how to put this idea into practice, could you send the link to your project that is on github?

You should try to analyse how the VoIP protocol works. First of all it will be a huge burden for host - until you pay/find out the way how to use already done software optimized for this service. Or you find your own way how to compress everything in quite low time. Imho - best would be connecting modified old TS with dedicated server as a hidden service of client - with letting people know, that is inside. Or any other opensource soft on other machine than the server is hosted on.

made my own protocol for voip, with player position and 3d audio system

I tested it and found it interesting, it lacks some options and optimizations as some people have already mentioned, and the audio is also not 3d, but it is very good, it is a great start, if you release on github the community can embrace and make it grow

yes, its just a test version, it will be optimizated and new features will be added, like a panel for choosing global chat, screen chat, guild chat, party chat etc
it was a paid job, cannot release it since i have financial interest adding it on my server, but i'm avaiable to talk with you on PVT and show the way to do it like I did
