You know the rules, and you know the drill.
If not, let me remind you:

The winner of this OTLand Official Mapping Contest will receive premium to their OtLand account.

At the end of a "season", the winner will receive an additional prize! Stay tuned. More details and current standings as well as a more detailed account of the rules can be found here: Hall of Fame | Rules | F.A.Qs

How do I sign up?

A poll has been made to allow you to sign up, simply select "Yes." to join, this contest has no limit on how many participants there are, whoever doesn't submit is simply not shown on voting day thus being disqualified. We have decided that allowing everyone to see who is taking part in the competition might inspire participants to make better pieces.

The poll will be open for the entire duration of the submission phase. Please ensure that you submit your entry within the deadline.

How do I submit?

Once you've mapped your entry, please send it to me via PM with the title "OtLand Mapping Competition - November Entry". You can always send me a revision should you wish to change it but please ensure you do this prior to the November deadline.

Please ensure that if your entry image is in game that you use "do not stretch game window" box when taking an in-game image and remove names, identifiers and health bar. If you submit a map editor image, please ensure you're at 100% zoom as to not distort the image.

Light effects vs image size is he trade off here, do as you see fit but if I get sent an extremely large map editor image, I'll kick it back. Be reasonable.

Rules:

No captions.
No in-game text.
NO GIFS or otherwise animated images.
All submissions must be mapped by the user submitting and the user only.
No colluding or team mapping allowed.
No custom sprites allowed – Please ensure you are using the vanilla Tibia.spr in your submissions.
If you sign up, you must submit an image otherwise you MAY be banned from competing in the following month’s competition (unless notified prior)
You must not discuss your submission with any other user. Please keep it to yourself until the voting stage has concluded, and the results determined.

Any users found to have broken any of the above rules will be disqualified from the contest and will be banned from submitting for the next competition.

If you have any queries or questions, please let me know.

For this competition, up to 2 images are allowed. No Photoshop, animations or effects, no custom sprites. The version in which you can map is however you see fit.

To keep it short, the deadline dates are as following:
Sign up & Submission: Sunday, 22nd of November.

The theme is "Free For All". Meaning you can map precisely what you want.
Use your creativity as you always do, except this time you have no limitations. This might be harder for some.

For inspiration check the stickied inspiration thread.
Here's a few pictures too:

Congratulations to @Berciq for winning last month's competition, with the theme "Abandoned Habitat".

Very thought thru theme this time and so much structure with the other threads as a reference. Thanks for the efforts.
I don't know why you don't host more often because a wise man once said: "One thing I've learned is that you leave responsibility to a pleb, you're gonna be disappointed".

Obviously I am going to join this competition again :) looking forward to see all the entries. Good luck to all!

Cheers

Not sure about that one to be honest. Maby change the theme.
No one has posted a suggestion in Suggestions for themes (https://otland.net/threads/suggestions-for-themes.177575/).

I chose to not include a wall of text this time since it might be frightening for new people to read through all of it. I will include the structure during the voting part.
And yes, I have been thinking about a freestyle competition since August, so I agree - it is very well thought of. And I have put a lot of efforts to it as well. Statistics for every single mapping contest month have made me thinking if the theme has something to do with the amount of sign ups. So this competition is also an addition to my statistics that I follow up with every competition. I understand that you are trying to put your beloved friend GhostX on a pedestal, and throw me down the dirt. This is not news to me, and you've been doing it quite a lot actually. But do know that I am actually hosting this month's competition so that GhostX can compete as well.
Thanks for the banter yet again.

That's not true. We had one discussion with different opinions on a topic and it was fine after that. I never treated you differently to anyone else on the board. I actually always liked you a lot, so I do not know where your accusation comes from.

I was just wondering/kinda shocked about the initial thread you posted. This was ridiculous. You updated it a couple of times and it has gotten better but still I think (since rules have changed almost every time) this should be included into the thread.

Anyways, I hope many people will join since I think competitions are very helpful and important to be held.

Cheers

Limit on in game / rme or number of images? Or same as last comp with 2 images max?

A maximum of 2 pictures, like last time.

Are custom sprites allowed? :)
Therran sprites are awesome, and are actually looking pretty close to the original sprites from Tibia. But we've said that we don't allow any custom sprites, unfortunately. Perhaps we should allow it for an upcoming competition. Let's have a vote in the future about it.
I'm open for it regardless - just not this time.

My only concern with allowing custom sprites is it presents a direct unfair advantage for some. It also, retracts from voting on the map itself as people would essentially be voting on the sprites too.

Maybe allowing transparent water in a future competition would be fine but opening up to custom sprites gives people that unfair advantage.. It's like a race but some participants can use a Ferrari and some are given a Vauxhall Corsa.. xD

can the picture be 4K?
"Light effects vs image size is he trade off here, do as you see fit but if I get sent an extremely large map editor image, I'll kick it back. Be reasonable."

so 4K is no reasonable? what is then?
Everyone has different sized monitors etc.. I feel like 4k would be better split into 2 images. The forum can only support a specific size before people are required to click the image and then click to open the full size in a new tab and this then means your preview on the voting page is distorted and may go against you when people vote.

It's not a rule to stop people showing their entire map, it's a rule to help keep it manageable and make the voting experience easier.
