ohh i see now, but won't the people that will download my edited client get issues at browser or system itself "saying that they are downloading a file with a false positive or something? i've noticed some issues like that with files edited in that way
Naah
I don't want to be rude but if you failed at such simple step then why would you even want to use it? I'm genuinely curious.

i simply want to change the icon, i tried changing the image of icon png at /data/images/clienticon.png and it worked.
BUT the icon in the folder itself hasn't changed( otc icon remains untouched in the otc folder)
just the icon at the task bar and at the top left corner of the client has changed.

also i know that i could install the missing libs manually, just opening the project in the msvc
( but i gotta download them one by one and they are so many libs) plus im almost sure that's not the way to go, since the nedded libs comes inside the otcv8-dev folder.

as i said above i tried to install in the vckpg folder directly but it didn't work either

please help

Then not like that. Use Resource Hacker to replace .exe icon. otclientv8-dev is not for use in a production, it's a Development Edition, meant to add new features, not to use it as a real client.
