Dear Players,

Because of high importance of this post, we are exceptionally posting it in four language versions: English, Spanish, Portuguese and Polish.

As you may have already noticed, in the past days we've been a target of some criminal who attempted to impersonate the administration to take over others' accounts. He created characters with names implying they might belong to Tibiantis staff and then messaged players saying he needed them to enter a certain link in order to confirm they were not cheating. That link was obviously a hacklink, it led to a fake site which looked like the original. The trick was to make people leave their accounts credentials there. However, his criminal activity goes much further. He also began to send mails (still pretending to come from us) in which he demanded players to download and run some Android application, most likely a bank trojan. He also had been trying to blackmail and threaten us with DDoS attacks, which he in fact launched but thanks to our protection - with zero impact on the server.
Therefore we want to once again remind:
  • We NEVER ask players to enter any links! if you were messaged that you're being "verified for cheating" and have to go to some link - it's a SCAM!
  • We NEVER ask players to download anything! if you were messaged or e-mailed to do so - it's a SCAM! Keep in mind that e-mail address of the sender can be spoofed! It may even look like belonging to our domain, but it's not!
  • The only charactes of the staff have nicknames: Kay, Lord, Xioniz. If ANY character other than these three messaged you saying he is from the staff - it's a LIE!
  • The only discord accounts of the staff are: Kay#3144, Lord#9241, Xioniz#3267. If ANY other messages you saying he is from the staff - it's a LIE!

Please, be careful to protect yourself and spread the word to protect your friends. The whole criminal activity of that individual was already reported to the police with his home IP address. If you received any suspicious message, especially via e-mail, or if you have any other useful information - let us know! If you have any doubts - contact us.

Can you please confirm you'll release all of the NPC dialogue / quest route and your design notes that went into creating the Ank access quest? When you've re-worked it I mean? Not to troll you, but perhaps there can be some community driven insight and feedback that can help you guys make awesome stuff going forward...

I think you know the answer to this already. They will never admit they did something bad and release anything. By now ankh is for sure not even finished yet.
 
Is there anything more cringe then when last man rants on ots? when he plays its the best server in the world, then he decides to play something else and its the biggest piece of trash, waste of time ever and gms suck. Then he comes back and all of a sudden its the bomb. quality over quantity!

can u remind me reason of ur deletion on medivia? wasnt it involved with ur comments on top lvl char about server being dead and fully botted?
 
how do mages level here with 1x reg/runes and no mc farms? are runes cheaper to make or smth?

we always focus on slow but steady growth rather than passing hype, but we are hoping to one day see it as crowded as tibia servers were back in the days ;)
 

I was looking into these mechanics on the real CIP server and found something interesting...

The mosnters mechanics are
Melee monsters, like the demon there. Have a 1s cast interval if there is no path to the target. but 2s if there is, even at range. However, if they're walking, it rolls the "extraSwing()" and will sometimes cast faster than it's 2s interval as it steps.

Ranged monsters (with the flag DistanceFighting) like warlock have a 1 second interval at all times. DistanceFighting is also fixed at 4sqm range.

This combo in the gif is because the demon is stepping as it moves closer. it will always be 2 seoncs as it walks, but because it does a couple dances here it rolls the extra swing and casts faster than it's 1 or 2second interval.

IT was possible for some monsters to combo twice in under 1 second. Things like hunters which had a 50% shoot chance would have been the most noticable with this. Warlocks a good example too. If they had 100% chance, you can absolutely notice it casting faster than 1s as it runs and dances.

This behaviour in real tibia almost seemed like a bug ,but made for interesting combos :p

yes, but its also 7.4 mana reg. making runes was as slow on 7.4 (uh=100 mana) as on 7.7 (uh=400 mana) becuase 7.7 had 4x reg compared to 7.4
It was rougly only 2x though right?

With mana costs basically 1/4 but regen 1/2 as well, it's still faster?

i'm like 99.9% sure 7.7 ms reg 2 mana in 2 sec, what is ms reg here, 1 mana in 4 sec i think right? in medivia original server its 1 mana in 2 sec (Regeneration - Medivia Online Wiki (https://wiki.mediviastats.info/Regeneration)) but it uses 2x reg.

i have other question, i saw that druid was changed a bit to buff them. are other things changed too? can i see these changes summarized somewhere?
i'm pretty sure it was 4x mana for runes but 4x mana reg. ms in 7.7 gained 2 mana in 2 sec, and 7.4 1 mana in 4 sec

What is the % of the extraSwing for every roll?
 
I know I recently posted here, but even as a OT developer myself, I think this server is fucking cool. Love it or hate it, most accurate 7.4 server ever. I am absolutely floored by the in depth approach to a realistic gameplay. These guys made so many right decisions. Huge respect.

Yes and... no. Your general observations are correct. The cause of that behavior isn't a programmed extra swing though. Spells are rolled in one function with the whole monster's behavior. What makes that "extra swing" is the fact that this function can be called more often than each one or two seconds.
That demon combo is because first it retargets, then its path gets blocked by fire elemental so it has to calculate a new way (triggered again) and then yet again when it reaches the target. It's called stimulus. Without any stimuli (demon standing still next to its target) it would wait 2 seconds between calls.
Hunters and warlocks spamming more spells when running is because ranged monsters have to re-calculate the way each step, trying to reach that optimum 4 squares distance (melee fighting monsters don't, unless their previously set path gets blocked).
That's why ranged monsters were considered way more dangerous as for their stats on paper. For others those sick combos were quite rare, as it required certain conditions plus the right "rolling", where each spell may have a chance of 1/10 for example. But you knew it could always happen and never saw it coming, which gave additional thrill and difiiculty.
In comparison default ots monsters are much more predictable as they have a static 2 seconds interval, no matter what. E.g. in annihilator demons just stand and roll spells every 2 seconds, while in real Tibia they were stimuled every second by the fact they couldn't reach the target (those 5), which resultet in 2x bigger spells spam.

7.4 mana regen, which is used on Tibiantis, is the following:
  • mage: 1 mana in 6 seconds and 1 mana in 4 seconds (promoted)
  • paladin: 1 mana in 8 seconds and 1 mana in 6 seconds (promoted)
  • knight: 1 mana in 12 seconds
  • in bed it is 1 mana in 1 minute up to 100 minutes if you go sleep fed to full
It's 4x slower than what it is in real Tibia since 7.6 update.

Spells mana cost is also original 7.4 (sd 220 mana etc.), except for a few customized. These changes are summarized in our discord, channel #custom-changes.
