who started Open-tibia

Reebow aka Cardin is a dbag :p. TibiaRules did a lot of that work for him; as a slavedawg pretty much...

and hello Jopirop
Reebow is not Cardin, but Cardin is a dbag. I haven't touched Tibia in years but I guess this idiot was pretending he was me for clout and to deceive people to be his slavedawgs as you say. Cardin Nguyen hosted my trainers and that was the extent of our association. Cardin Nguyen is a liar and an impersonator.

Don't care who that is but mane didn't you make an IP changer/sprite tool/some kind of Tibia software?

was founded by Tliff (tliffrag), Shivoc, Spin (mips_act) and Sim0ne (otserv_simone).

Tibia Emulator was created by Snyder back in 2001.
Both facts!

Snyder may have had first working login before other, maybe even thought of the concept first? But Otservers are much bigger than the names. Ot is now a living concept. It's owned by no one, and worked on by many. There is lots of great history on this project, and the project that really took life and made the community strong in the first place was indeed

"Open-Tibia Server"
Which is what TheForgottenServer was originally based from (if I remember correctly). Pretty much been those two servers as the foundation for all servers. First Open-Tibia Server when the community first came together hardcore, and then TheForgottenServer when the big split happened. Many names on both projects and all the old sites. If you go to archive.org you can actually go see the old forums sites , at least get a good glimpse into the history.

Surprised this is still going. @reebow - That actually makes sense, your light hack in the early 2000's was amazing. Lol.

I'm actually back in OT with some influencers backing the project I am putting together. I haven't really hosted a full project since Klantskalle in 2004-2005 when me and @gawy ran the most popular OT on the planet (only competitor was EmpireBR and they were a 100x lagfest).

100 MBIT was gold standard at that time and we actually had 225 players at peak and the engine could barely even handle it, requiring restarts..often.
