Situation:

A guy donated 103€ on my server (50+50+3) and asked for a chargeback for the 50 and 50 payments.

He wrote different reasons in both chargeback (not received and different object). And in the description he wrote something in Swedish.

He has been playing for a week, leading my server with 4 players and hunting a lot (people and mobs). When he got bored or someone killed him, not sure, he started the chargebacks.
I answered both chargebacks, with a lot of information, properly written and with a picture where they could see the paypal reports and the points added in database. Also I uploaded some pictures about the donate set they had and the top players in the server so they could see 4 players were of this person (this wont be very useful but it's something).

I had lost a chargeback lot of years ago, but until now paypal always gave me the reason and never had any problem with them.

These days I could speak with the guy, he thought an admin killed him and quit because of admin abuse, when is not true since im the only one admin but this other player wrote "helpers" in the nick.

Anyway, he didnt remove the cases and he has won both cases, I've lost 50+50 and paypal has charged me (the loser) a fee of 14€ of each case (28€).

So yes, I've lost money for the guy that has been leading my server during a week, who has played totally free.

I've appealed both cases, and now im trying to speak with someone in paypal.

This is the only way of getting money we have in 2022 for real? This fucking incompetents?

If you want I can add the details from the guy, since I've his "real details" from paypal etc.

Ye, also I thought in doing the players donate through sending money directly to me, but if the people dont see the typical "buttons" and see the points added automatically they can see it strange and dont donate. Said by some players of my server....

The problem is with Paypal, how this can still happen? I've been a "client" since I started with servers in 2012, and NEVER had any problem. And they fuck me like this now.... it's crazy and has no sense.

stop being a greedy pig, if youre running a bisness obviously you will meet some bad people. running a bisness obviously you will face chargebacks or just customers who want a refund. it has NOTHING to do with paypal.

the more shady ur server is the more chargebacks u will probably get too

You cant avoid chargebacks, but paypal is the only and fastest way for clean donations in my opinion, these amazon cards and etc Indian level shit just makes super annoying and you probably will get 80% less donations because of that. Honestly i never lost a chargeback , maybe because the people that trying to get chargeback usually gives up super fast when u provide legitiment proves, and 100% of the time when person is still trying to get the chargeback, 100% of the time especially for me, paypal closes the case for my side. But i heard a lot of situations when its opposite for some people, honestly idk why maybe it depends what type your paypal is if its personal or business or it has any kind of limitations or reports or w/e shit you would call it, but its just my speculation.

True man, Paypal is the only way people trust for donations and also they want the points automatically, if they dont have in 5 mins or less, they will start spamming everywhere.
I've also won all chargebacks but I dont know what happened this time. This guy spoke in Swedish and when paypal asked him for more information he didnt even answer (he told me that, at first he was even laughing at me).

This is really strange... I think it depends on the people who check it in paypal also, maybe some idiot had to check both case this time, and im sure they dont even read the information etc. They just see we dont sell any physical product and give back the money to the buyer.

Its sad but some of you could be the next. I will try to speak with them today, but I think it will be useless.

Anyway, when you add the legit information, what do you add? I added the paypal reports, so they "could see" I received the information of the donation to give him the points.

I also dont have any issue with paypal, or restriction, but is true that is my personal account. Is it worth to have proffessional paypal? Its expensive?

Usually what i do is screenshot donation agreement terms, database history of him receiving his order and him spending it, any other chat proves if its related to somekind of admin abuse or anything related to it. And as a cherry on top usually i add somekind of logical law, like u cant get a refund in you ate the food, thats not how it works in any kind of business.

Well im using business account so maybe thats why it helps a little bit more for me, but honestly idk.

Paypal is bullshit. They will always decide in favor of customers, It doesn't matter how many proofs you send. Sometimes a customer purchase can result into negative -8 USD because they charge the seller a chargeback fee. Ridiculous. You as a seller have ZERO guarantees that the money you received via paypal is yours until 6 months have passed (client can open disputes until 6 months!)

As I commented in this post;

In my humble opinion the best solution to this would be we work to the start implementing crypto payments api.

If the guy paid it using his credit card instead of money already deposited on his account, I think he could also ask for a refund in his credit card. This way, probably the credit card's company contacted PayPal and asked the refund as well, and PayPal just accepted it in favor of the bad user.

just relax and chill bro, i have lost more than 1000$ with paypal, just let life continue he will face the wildpower of karma! :D

you can try some zelle, wise, binance, or another direct payment, welcome to 2022

Paypal is shit when it comes to charge backs...

I have never seen a Paypal chargeback dispute be in favour of the seller. It always returns money and it make a joke out of itself.

Just ban the accounts and then blacklist the paypal account. Even share the paypal account so OT Admins can blacklist it before he scams other servers.

Update 22/07

Before appealing the second chargeback, i was so angry that I tried to speak with someone of paypal. I tried sending a message and a woman answered me. I explained all the situation and told me that she understood me and was going to do everything possible so I could win the second chargeback.

In about 30 min I had won it and 2 hours later I received the fee (14€).

She told me that If I had spoken with her about the first chargeback I could have won it too, but now it's too late because the appeal has been solved already.

She even told me that if this happens next time, I should speak with her so they will tell me what to add in database etc to check if he has received the points.

A little hope...

By the way, do you know if there is any problem in switching the name and the email of Paypal?

People see my real number and personal address for donating, and now is something that I dont like much.

Would it be a problem in case of chargebacks?

Thank you.

I don't think there would be an issue changing the name/email, AFAIK they're both options within the PayPal web app

Just a heads up, keep your real life name the same on PayPal as it is on any documents to verify your identity. If it is not, they will lock your account for 180 days and then the funds will unlock to withdraw to a bank account but your PayPal will still be frozen and you'll need to make a new account with the proper name. Speaking from experience..

I stand corrected, I've never had a dispute but @Extrodus answer's will most likely be true.
