7.4-7.6, 1x RL-server that will last forever, revive "Tajbia" from good ol' days

My goal is to host a 7.6~ 1x RL-server and just let it be, as it is, forever.

A 1x server that will never go down, that everyone can trust, no pay-to-win,
no corrupt GMs and so on. Just freezed in time for everyone to trust and enjoy.

I have the ability to pay for help to set up this "eternity-server"

I am the old hoster of "Tajbia" the top otservlist server back in 2006-2007~.
But had to quit because it was hacked over and over again and back in those
days I could not pay for security help. My programming skills are very limited
and all I wish is to host this server again, but make it last forever. Or, in other
words, I want this server to exist.

I cannot manage to compile and set up the "Nostalrius" or any of the other servers.
It was easier back in the old days as I remember, back in the days when all you needed
was Xampp and a server and then just edit stuff and make it work.

Maybe someone with more knowledge want to jump on this project and help me?

Working on that, learing how to compile.
There are no 7.1-7.6 RL map 1x servers out there, and I want to revive
old tibia, nothing more or less..
There are a ton of old players who miss the old thing and I want to create someting as close as possible that will stay online with no
profits in mind. I want there to be a real oldschool server.

That's it.

I am also working on a new Tibia-like game in Unity but that's a whole different thing.

Maybe just try Tibiantis before do host anything?

there are multiple server like that bro xd

I'd help with an eternity low rate server if it was a custom map. Anything but the real map. As Arcania said, you need something unique. Having a custom map would suffice if it was properly managed.

You will have a lot of problems with advertising your server/give arguments. Why would people join your server instead of 3-4 low rate servers that have stable playerbase?
Because a lot of players come there, write something about having top otservlist, writting ot name that nobody remembers, start server full of bugs and dissapear quickly

I wish hosting servers were about only having a good project and an installed xampp server.

But your server will fail, crash at some point... will lag... the hosting company will go down... there will be rollbacks.. players will be unhappy... problems with donations... your gm will be hacked... the wave of active players will go down, and up, and down, and down... the mechanics of the server will be far from the original... there will be missing content... the website will bug... go down... etc. etc.

You will unlikely make a bank with donations alone, and at some point will the headache compensate?

I don't believe a 7.x 1x is going to last. There were some solid projects before that... was just ok in the long run.

Personally, we are just better off playing someone else or creating something less serious.

Why do anything, when you can do nothing and shittalk three by three.

I think it needs further improvement in many aspects.
