last owner is working on some other ots and i don't think he will oppen ascalon again. u can check the discord last post 1 year ago :(
 
I was just thinking about this server lol I saw they were online but just for testing...
anyone else recalls Lordareon ?? Hell of an otserver as well
 
@Mr. Greyshade is the current owner of Ascalon.
I think he muted the Discord server because he never answers there.
If someone had an answer about this, it would be him.

On topic tho, it would be amazing to have Ascalon back during these shitty times.
 
Sadly, I don't have time nor motivation to relaunch the server. I have worked on the server in some of my free time mostly updating everything to a newer TFS version, however that's still far from complete as it's a huge task, I could relaunch the older version - but still I don't have time to manage that, and there wouldn't be any updates to it.

The server is still online, and from time to time there's some players online, so if you liked Ascalon - it's still possible to play (although the server is empty most of the time).
 
If one of the people sent me the old source I could put it online and maintain it without a donation shop, dont want to make profit off of fares work. I got the rest of the files.
Also just gonna remind you guys that some servers are also just beautiful memories. Ascalon was what it was because not everyone botted, not everything was optimised and we didnt know every inch of the map. If i host it again it would die out in two weeks max :) maybe kleep those beautiful memories and be happy you experienced it instead of craving to re-experience it! <3

Would be great if you could share it because its really very nostalgic to us.
I have so many great memories and I have met many great players trough this!
 
Ascalon will return!

The last online version is gonna come back again soon with a couple of updates. More news will come shortly!

If anyone is interested in helping, I could need some advertisement material (banners, screenshots, videos, whatever!), some help with otclientv8 (it should not be possible to inject custom modules like bots), and some help with managing the community.

It's crazy how that we're in 2023 and still no server comes even slightly close to being as good as Ascalon. Like what the fuck happened to the mindset and creativity to the people who create custom servers? Ascalon is truly a masterpiece and should be worshipped and protected at all costs. Really disappointing to see how good Ascalon was/still is yet nobody can match it with their servers.

Edit: My mistake, the only server that I recognize that was extremely close OR was relatively good as Ascalon is Project XDC back in 2012 I think. And if I remember correctly that server wasn't even finished.

ASCALON Ascalon is a long-term project which was in development for a long time. It has been online a couple of times, with every launch going way better than the previous one because the game world was always improving. Ascalon offers unique gameplay, which was polished dozen of times...

can't see anything special, all free scripts from otland, tibiaKing, opentibiaBR and more free resources, don't get me wrong im with making something creative with the available materials but you made me interested into watching their content to find out the normal custom EVO content nothing special to "worship it" as you mentioned.. maybe try Evolunia, blackTalon, Zoltyum (new release), archlight they are all great custom servers that Ascalon didn't come close to be as good as them.
