Hello, I'm mobile developer and I'm working on Idle version of Tibia. I have MVP version of app almost ready but to be honest, in the last stage of development, few days before open beta, I'm little scared about copyright's. Ofc we all know, it's illegal. Maybe someone of you can share some informations with me? Maybe did you meet similar project?

Btw this is Tibia in idle version, battles are in turn-based style. In the city you can move only horizontaly to talk with npcs. Also there is MMO aspect, every location can be played online with PVP system. Few typical idle modules like timing mission or offline skilling are implemented.

I have developed few idle online rpg games on mobile and I know what im doing, but like I said, copyright's should be problemtic in this one. Ofc i want to publish on Google Play and AppStore.

And maybe... you are a graphic designer with a knowledge about Tibia and you want to co-work? I'm open to create custom graphics.

You've been here a long time, please tell me what you think about projects like Tibia 3D or OTS that have their own game client? They also break the law and Tibia3D was shown on Twitch. What is it all about? I'm very confused.

Twitch doesn't care what you stream (to a point ofc). Its completely different ToS. As long as there are copyright protected assets that you don't have rights to use, then publishing these games on Google Play, App Store, Steam and so on is not gonna go through (apps are reviewed before they go live).
 
I'm eager to see the beta! I'm so bored with nothing to play these days lol
 
Overall, the layout looks great, this is promising as a product, however as Oen said, it will definitely get banned fast on any public game store.
 
i had idea to create that stuff myself too year or two back but never got to it. autohunting and using OT map + tibia spr etc would make more sense e.g
Send player to hunt in thais sewers or rotworms and u see ur character goign around exping (kinda like bot) stuff

ps. forget about android just make it a website in html5 and js.

If you are targeting a wider audience within idle mobile games, Tibia's interface and graphics are a bit old-fashioned. Perhaps it would be more attractive to have something original.
 
just start with it like it is now, then make a big update a change ALL the tibia sprites.

Yup, you are right. I'm probably going to change these graphics to polygon 3d but from isometric camera view. Using Tibia assets on global scale is too risky, not only from copy's side but also from audience aspects.
 
there was a tibia idle game before which got taken off store due to using their graphics
 
You could always just publish the apk on Github, and if you absolutely need to monetize it you could just go with ads. I'm sure there's at least one ad publisher that allows in-app ads without google play being involved.

actually curious here. how much money do those random idle games even generate on the app store? lets say one with like 20k downloads, 50k, 1 mil? idk

Quite alot. It's my third idle online game (20-50k downloads per app) and in best time I made aroud 4k USD in a month with one app. Ofc it depends on your marketing and budget spend on advertising, but 1-2k USD monthly is a standard on this level. With each subsequent game you gain experience that allows you to earn more and more.

There are no average/estimated numbers. Too many factors affect these values. App with CCU 5k can make more money than one with 10k.

But you are still using Tibia spells icons. And looks like even some UI images for background and such.
