Hello!

After running AmiroTS ARC (8.60, OTS 0.4) for some time, I've decided it's time to take things to the next level. I’m excited to announce a brand-new project that will be a completely fresh rebuild, designed to be more modern, dynamic, and immersive. This new OTS will be built from scratch, taking inspiration from the original but improving on every aspect, from engine to gameplay.

Who Am I?

I've been on OTLand since 2008-09, and I’ve always enjoyed working with 0.4. I still actively run AmiroTS ARC and have no plans to abandon it. This new project is something I’m developing as a side project in my free time, balancing my work at the hospital with my passion for game development.

What's New?

✅ Engine Upgrade – Instead of relying on TFS, this project will be based on BlackTek (GitHub Repo), ensuring better stability, security, and scalability.

✅ Tibia 10.98 Support – Moving away from 8.60, this new version will support Tibia 10.98, providing a more modern experience with enhanced mechanics and smoother gameplay.

✅ Custom Map from Scratch – No recycled content! We are designing a brand-new world, completely unique, with fresh cities, dungeons, and quests tailored for exciting exploration and adventure.

✅ Small but Dedicated Team – This project consists of only two people: myself, handling everything from coding to systems, and a dedicated mapper who is crafting the entire world from scratch. Because of this, it’s a long-term project, but one we’re deeply committed to.

✅ Community-Driven Features – This thread is the beginning of an open discussion. I want to gather feedback, ideas, and suggestions to shape this OTS into something special. What do you want to see? What features should be included or avoided?

✅ Open to Contributors – If anyone is interested in helping out with the project, whether through scripting, graphics, or other contributions, feel free to reach out!

✅ Regular Progress Updates – As development continues, I’ll be sharing screenshots, changelogs, and sneak peeks to keep everyone engaged.

How Can You Get Involved?

If you want a taste of the style and gameplay we’re aiming for, you can check out my currently running AmiroTS ARC and its Wikipedia. Feel free to test it out to get an idea of the vision behind this new project.

This is just the start of an exciting journey, and I’d love to hear from all of you! Drop your thoughts, feature requests, and any feedback you have. Whether you played AmiroTS ARC before or are new to my projects, your input is invaluable in making this the best OTS experience possible.

I’m definitely interested in keeping it a high-exp server, as that’s what I enjoy working on the most. My goal is to refine the experience further, making it even better than it is now while also experimenting with new features using the updated engine/system. I understand that high-exp servers aren’t for everyone, but for me, it wouldn’t make sense to invest my time in something I don’t truly enjoy.

If you will make it from scratch then you should focus on
balancing the items because when I tried it it was kinda weird,
Spells wasn't scaling with levels you should focus on that as well.
For me rebirth system isn't a good idea you should keep it up the same as spider-ot and forggtenL.

And using the new BlackTek engine is the best way to go it is stable if you will convert to 10.98.
And good luck.

I love highexp ots too, I mean I prefer the old 8.6 sprites with everything above of 8.60
lIke a good mix you know

Yes, I was thinking the same. I prefer a high-exp system similar to having a max of 717k/1mil rather than using reborns, while keeping it within the thousands. I enjoyed that far more than the rebirth system. To be honest, reborns introduced a lot of complications requiring extensive editing, balancing fixes, and overall maintenance issues.

BlackTek Server's starting codebase is The Forgottenserver 1.4.2, and BlackTek Server 1.0 and 1.1 were built to be almost completely backwards compatible with TFS 1.4.2.

I’m really confused. Can you explain that a bit more? What’s going to be written from scratch and if it’s not based on TFS but on BlackTek and BlackTek is from what I can read on GitHub based on TFS, what is it based then?

seems very much pay to win, wouldn't start playing here on my own

Sorry for any confusion! When I said "from scratch," I meant in comparison to my current server, which is running on TFS 0.4. Essentially, I’m rebuilding the server from the ground up without reusing anything from the old setup.

As for BlackTek, while it is based on The Forgotten Server (TFS) 1.4.2, it's been developed with its own modifications and enhancements. So rather than using TFS 0.4 or transitioning directly to a newer TFS version, I'm choosing to build the new server using BlackTek as the foundation, as it offers a more modern and compatible starting point.

Here is a quote from the developer regarding BlackTek:
version 1.0 will only serve as a nice updated and stable version of TFS 1.4.2 basically, like its just a better option for 10.98 clients, or anyone who wishes to take a good base server for downgrades that already still uses spr, dat, and otb instead of protobufs, and doesn't require a login server.

I have also stated many times, once the first official version is released, I will be switching gears and transforming the server into a custom game engine, rather than a "tibia emulator". With the purpose of being a unique engine that allows rapid development of custom 2D TopDown MMORPG's or other type of online gameplay that is 2D topdown.

The purpose of this project, is to learn and develop my skills, while improving the codebase and transforming it into something that is actually capable of building and running the game I wish to make.

I don't think anyone would be able to play here, because it's still a work in progress project that is nowhere near being released. But hey, thank you for your input

Thanks for the clarification, sounds like a nice and promising project. Wish you best luck.

I hope u guys will keep the motivation for mapping xD
Tbh I like seeing a MIX of copy paste and self made :D
Copy paste of what? Everything you see in those pictures were mapped from zero, you will see some parts inspired from my current server (The same mapper is mapping my main server and this project).

What I tried to say is, I like a mix of self made and copy paste mapping ( Idc if people copy paste aslong you use it right )

We avoid copy-paste. The goal here is to create a 100% own made map without copying any parts from other servers.

True, although it's mapped from scratch, the layout is inspired from Enigma to keep people familiar around the main city. Not a house is the same or anything else within the map tho. It's is still early, and it is possible that it might change, and people will have to relearn their way around.
