OldHeart Online is about to open its doors on April 10th, at 17:00 UTC!

Some of you here on Otland may have seen a post about OldHeart in 2024 and 2025. First of all, we would like to address that last year's version seemed good to us as staff, but in reality it still needed adjustments, as well as security and performance infrastructure to properly support everyone. This unfortunately led to frustrations after a few days online and eventually the server closure.

We are now happy to say that we applied all the necessary improvements and infrastructure upgrades for the server’s health and stability, and we are fully prepared to receive players in a professional way.

Because of that, OldHeart deserves a new post here, especially due to all the updates and new systems implemented since last year. And there were many!


🧭 About OldHeart​

For those who don’t know us yet, we are an Old School Tibia 8.0 server focused on preserving the gameplay feeling of that era, always paying attention to the core elements such as:
  • Rune making without soul
  • Strong spells with old animations from 7.6
  • Classic spells like:
    • exevo mort hur
    • exevo gran mas vis
  • Updated cities and hunting grounds
  • Monsters with old Tibia difficulty and intelligence
  • Content prepared for all level ranges
  • Many systems to improve progression without removing difficulty
We also maintain a strict Anti-Macro and Anti-Bot policy, with a custom client that blocks illegal software.

Too many stages seems like a baiak.
I'll think about the last stages, to end in 1x, or 0.8x... 2x is way fast for higher levels. But too many stages doesn't mean it is a baiak xD

but I think my colleagues are right regarding the experience stages

It could start at x2 until level 50, then drop to x1, and at level 100 finish at x0.80

This would prevent a level 100 character from appearing in just one week

I think that for a long-term server, adding 5x and 3x exp is unnecessary. People like a challenging start, and 2x difficulty is already something many find easy.
And adding stamina and soul control to runemakers is essential to prevent non-lifers and sharing, as well as mass runemakers flooding the server.

You can't make rune crafting any more difficult than it already is with Soul Spirits.

This would cause inflation in the game's economy.

Hi bro, I'm glad to try out this OT, I'll join friday : )

BUT! My advice to any OT hoster, and now especially to you since you haven't opened it, is that if you charge for premium normal features and the map is not open free to play, you shouldn't charge for all the other tons of game boosters, it's bad, and it NEVER works out.

The service should be either one flat contribution for the whole experience or charge in parallel for microtransactions that would make your experience smoother (e.g. exp boost, djinns, bless and such).

Now, you are charging newcomers in a totally non based server with no reputation to play for premium just to access normal flat vanilla content, AND at the same time forcing them to pay even more since your player significance will be none if you don't get them.

In simple words, keep the microtransactions but let normal premium features be free, or in my experience (25 years of Tibia) this will not work out in the mid-long term. Might work for launch weekend, but that's it. It's like you offer a taxi service tarrif from A to B but you charge for speed, the music, punctuality and safety all separately... in a total unkown taxi service... would you use this service? xD

Also, I suggest removing Yalahar it's totally unnecessary and shouldn't ever exist in Tibia.

Based on your arguments, I will now share my thoughts on the issues raised here. You used the taxi analogy, which makes sense, but now consider that the first players will have their premium account activated. The premium service will no longer be unknown; the premium advantages will be presented to the player within the first 3 days.

Therefore, the player will already know how the service works and will have the confidence needed to renew it. For a premium service to work in Tibia, some key things need to be limited. Note that I'm not taking away a person's right to travel by boat, but rather their right to visit premium cities by boat. I'm not taking away a person's right to collect monster loot, but rather their right to collect it automatically.

The game currently offers enough resources for a person to farm their own premium with gold coins, such as mining, loot bags, rare items, and crafting items from minibosses. If they decide to pay for premium, only $6 is needed. I don't think this system wouldn't work as you described.

Regarding Yalahar, it is indeed a very interesting city for hunting, with many options, and it is only accessible to those who obtain 10 task points. Because of it, a new player cannot simply go hunting in Yalahar at level 8.
 
I think premium should have a cost so it can help cover hosting and maintenance cost. I've seen some servers offer shorter options, like 1-week or 2-week premium instead of only 30-day plans, which I think is a nice addition.

I made a discussion thread to openly discuss business models in ots so i don't disturb hoster propapanga which was not my intention :)

 
server rates and store looks like you want to keep server alive for 2-3 weeks at best unless people will just cave bot on 0.8x exp rate and spamm stamina elixirs

In OldHeart 0.8x is not like that. With the prey bonus, exp vouchers from events, global boosts, it doens't look a nightmare. Also hunts are not too slow like a 7.4 . About the store, I don't get your point

Personally, I'd rather see like 7-14-day premium as the norm instead of it being free or 30 day subscription.
That would keep the hoster wanting to update and keep it fresh more often. Not that it's an issue with this server, but in many cases.

Free or 30 day premium can mean less pressure to update, and players lose interest.
With 30 days, if the server gets stale mid-month, people feel like they paid for nothing, which can kill momentum.
