Reminder for people who played on project antica. Discord is deleted, whole conversations were deleted before. Highly recommending to delete appdata two folders located in: Local and Roaming (project antica both i think). There is "anti cheat" that is not deleted after uinstalling launcher (projectantica.guard).

This was very stange project. What was the point? Hacking? I scan and there wasn't any virous.

The anticheat bypass was to NOP the closest JMP instruction by just finding the string "run from launcher" I don't think they got the knowledge and experience to run a server with such size...

The website says:

"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the discontinuation of Project Antica.

Since the launch the server has been under continuous DDoS attacks and targeted hacking attempts. We tried everything we could, a global proxy fleet, infrastructure upgrades, anti-cheat systems, around-the-clock staff monitoring, to keep the world online for the community.

Unfortunately the cost of running under constant attack, both financial and emotional, is no longer sustainable. We made the difficult decision to stop the project rather than let the experience continue to degrade.

Everything you're saying is fake; the server was shut down due to ddos attack.Screenshot_4.webp

They using OTC and Websocket Cloudflare System can be found here on the forum
What they waiting for

Tell me then where is link for discord on their website? I thought it is deleted when the link is gone. My bad. However...
Server was shut down not due to ddos attack, but by their incompetence? If you launch "SeRiOuS pRoJeCt" and provide it in your server information and you lose to raw.exe then i quess it is good that the server is down because you were not a serious project.
Not to defend raw exe cause it is shit behaviour to ddos all starting mid/big projects but at least we have natural selection of people/project who put work vs people who just download pack etc and run server like this one

Are you aware there are "encrypters" that basically hide all the "malware" code from an application resulting in an application showing 0 viruses? Of course, this type of stuff is not free but paid. I wouldn't trust a 2 week old Discord account who opens a Tibia server tbh.

I'm glad I didn't even download the server, it was struggling already when I joined discord.

It honestly makes no sense for someone opening a Tibia server to spend huge amounts of money on making their client fully FUD crypted. Keeping a client “Fully Undetectable” against antivirus software is expensive and requires constant updates, private crypters, and maintenance. If 500+ people already downloaded the client, it becomes even harder and more expensive to keep it undetected.

Also, we are talking about a Tibia community here — not some bitcoin hacking community. Most people are just trying to play a custom server, not run advanced malware operations.
---Some people in the Otland community clearly have huge egos and instantly assume everything is malicious without understanding how any of this actually works. Instead of having rational discussions, they jump straight to conspiracy theories and accusations.

Nobody is saying it was malware, just common sense when downloading stuff from people whose identity is anonymous.

I do not understand how this works. However, i installed lot of clients and 90%+ times i see only config + minmap left. There's two whole folders that's why i am writting about this? What do i benefit from when server is offline and closed anyway, prefer to warn people about files

What you’re seeing is projectantica.guard,

It’s just a leftover folder/file from the client’s protection or launcher system. Many clients create “guard” or “anti-tamper” components that store configs, logs, or verification data locally. Even if the server is offline or the client is uninstalled, those files can remain on disk.

This is still just local data — it doesn’t mean anything is running, active, or harmful. If someone wants, it can be fully removed manually via %appdata% or the installation directory.

Calling it a “warning” is a bit misleading unless there’s actual evidence of malicious behavior (like persistence, background services, or data collection). In this case, it looks like normal leftover files from the client’s guard system.

Thanks for the tip, I didn't notice the uninstall data anomaly.

I played all the test servers, and the project seemed legit yet the sudden closure was very... suspicious? At least weird asf. A freetoplay server with dedicated hosting and cheat control sounds too good to be true.
