Compiling 0.3.6 on Linux

I am trying to compile crying damson 0.3.6 on ubuntu 16.04

when I type "./autogen.sh" it says 'acces denied'
when I'm trying to give chmod~ it says 'acces denied'

what is going on? it looks the same on root and on custom ssh account, I am sure I have all privilages

can somebody help me please :3

sorry if I do something wrong and it looks silly for someone experienced in Ubuntu, I never used it before
