A good recording program

do you guys know a good recording program, i want to record a war movie and make it cool ;p
please give a good program with a good recording quality

Snag-it. Record with tibicam first and then you record your tibicam movies with snag-it. It was long time ago I recorded tibicams with snag-it, but I remember I used Virtualdub for something, like reducing the file size or to improve the quality Can't remember >.<
