In this basic tutorial thread of GMing, I'll explain you how to receive a proper rule-violation report from a player. How you will see it and how the reporting player will see the actions you make on your tool character.
First of all, as we all know rule violation reports can be done by pressing CTRL+R online.
A window will pop up, where you can state the description of the report you are about to make.
Describe your report as detailed and as short as possible.
All staff members should have a channel called "Rule Violations" opened during online time.
From this channel, they can view all pending rule violations.
When the channel is open and the Gamemaster receives a report, it pops up on the channel on white text.
The Gamemasters have two choises, either remove the report immediately or process it. Usually useless, nonsense reports are removed at first hand.
If they decide to remove the report, it will simply close.
A Gamemaster will probably answer something to your report, to inform you that it's noted. You have a chat opened with the specific Gamemaster all the time but most likely it's closed after it's dealth with.
The Gamemaster answers and closes the case. From then on, you can only close the report channel.
A familiar red message will pop up when the Gamemaster hits the "Close" button.
I hope this opened something to someone! This is how it usually works (or even should work).
