Editor's Note: Our review of the console version just went live, make sure to read it as well as this comparison piece: Battlefield 3 exclusive console review - PlanetXbox360.com (click here)

With only one long day between you and the launch of Battlefield 3, multi-console owners are surely asking themselves a single question: Xbox360 or Playstation 3? While many games on multiple platforms are often replicas of each other, this is not the case with Battlefield 3. There are a number of things to consider which sets the game apart from the two competing systems. As an owner of both consoles and having played the beta (and retail copies) for each, I have decided to detail the differences in the game and choose a winner, at least for now.

Graphics:
It is no secret at this point that the true powerhouse in graphical quality for Battlefield 3 will be on PC. If you’re like me, you don’t have the machine for it to matter. While the beta may not have been finalized on quality and DICE has confirmed that the final product will look, sound, and perform better on each system, the comparison between the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 call together some significant traits. The affirmation on which console looks better may likely boil down to personal opinion, but the PS3 does appear to be the most capable of reaching proximity with the PC despite reaching a 720p resolution as opposed to the 360’s 1080p resolution.

Update - Texture Pack Installed on Xbox 360: The first disc includes the hyped multiplayer and co-op missions and the high definition texture pack. That's right. If you want to get the most out of the game's graphic settings, you will need to clear 1.5 GB of space on your hard drive to make it happen. If you're playing the game without a hard drive or don't have the space to clear, you will have to opt for the "standard definition" version of the game which is comparable to the quality of games when the 360 launched. Maybe not that bad...but bad enough that I could cut the graphics score in half. The texture pack makes a major difference not only in the textures found on guns, environments, and character models but also in the lighting as well. However, I also felt the need to turn up the brightness of my game when playing in the tunnels of Operation Metro, which also caused the game to look less impressive. This makes the graphics an even wash, unless of course you don't have a Xbox 360 hard-drive and in that case skip this game all-together.

OFC that PC has better graphics than the consoles. PC is constantly getting upgraded.

If you want BF3 on PC, you will need one hell of a computer... My computer could probably run this, but not on the graphics that I really look for.
That's why I'm going to buy this on PS3.

PC, PS3.

LOLBox needs 2 disks for BF3
"Disc one features the stunning multiplayer, co-op levels and HD installation content.
"Disc two features the superb single-player campaign."
That will be all.

Xbox 360, Don't argue with me, I like ps3 too but I think xbox 360 is more suited for the FPS genre. (Triggers for firing etc). Not sure if ps3 uses x or whatever it is nowadays.
Also people will probably debate controllers for xbox having weirdly placed thumbsticks, I think it's fine, may take a lil' gettin used to at first for newbies.

Meanwhile PC requires a very expensive computer...? I think you get what I mean..
I'd rather just own a system that will run it, regardless of how many discs it comes with.
So stfu its all personal opinion.

I agree, it is personal opinion, which I am expressing by saying PC, PS3

Personally I prefer to not have to hassle my self with many disks.

Where did you take English classes and why do you seem mad every time you quote one of my posts?

I only seem mad because every time you comment on something technology related, gaming/computers etc, you seem to brag about how well or how good you computer is, above others it makes you seem like you're trying to show-off.

And I'm NZ European, so I've spoken English all my life.

I agree with the fact about more than 1 disc being a hassle, but sometimes I prefer it, like Halo 3: ODST, one disc containing the campaigns for ODST's storyline, and the other containing the multiplayer content for Halo 3 (With all map packs)

My computer isn't even good.. Lol..
I just have a very good knowledge about hardware, and I find that correcting people that make mistakes about something hardware related is necessary, else they will never find out how wrong they are (usually they are very wrong)
