0.3.4 - more features, more memory leaks, although it's quite stable
0.2.4 - less features, less memory leaks, quite stable also.

If you are starting I'd go with 0.2.4 - it's always easier to upgrade to 0.3 than later try downgrading to 0.2

i am using [8.41/42] The Forgotten Server 0.3.4PL2 (Crying Damson) and this ot have a good stability, i have compiled mine 8.5, and it have good stability too, but i will wait to the next oficial update 8.5

Well.. I had more problems with tfs 0.2.~ then I ever had with 0.3.4..
But it's true.. I think 0.2.4 is more stable BUT it's less supported then 0.3.4..
I would choose 0.3.4 ^^
