Problem Description
Hello,
I would like to report / ask about an issue that happens intermittently while using OTClientv8 with cavebot enabled, related to the basic attack system.
The behavior is the following:
- The cavebot correctly detects and selects a creature.
- The creature remains marked with the red target square, indicating it is properly targeted.
- The character enters follow attack mode and does not change attack state.
- No basic attacks are executed:
- No melee attacks
- No distance attacks
- No wand/rod attacks
The key issue is that:
- The character becomes “stuck” in follow attack, constantly chasing the creature,
- The attack state never resets or switches,
- The character will remain in this state until the attack is manually canceled or the character dies.
When trying to use exori con, it says that a target is required
Specific case (Paladins)
This issue is especially noticeable with paladins using the bot with exori con:
- The paladin stays glued to the creature, following it endlessly,
- No basic attacks are performed,
- The combat logic never changes or recovers,
- The bot remains stuck until:
- The attack is manually canceled, or
- The character dies.
Important observations
- Runes work correctly when configured:
This strongly suggests that the target itself is working properly.
I will give an example: when this happens to a mage, the character does not attack using wand/rod basic attacks, but can still use runes normally (for example, sudden deaths). That is why I say that the targeting itself is actually working correctly.
“This allows the character to kill the selected creature and continue its path, but in the case of paladins they remain stuck because they do not use runes. That is why I use them as an example
- The issue appears to affect only basic automatic attacks.
- The character never exits the “follow attack” state, as if the combat logic becomes blocked.
- The problem does not happen all the time, only intermittently.
- It usually occurs while the cavebot is actively handling movement and waypoints
