Constant or sporadic saves?

In your opinion what makes less lag in a server:

-Constant saves and cleans (let's say every 30 minutes)
-Sporadic saves and cleans (every 2-5 hrs)
- 1 Save and clean a day

Or what's the best combination that has worked for you.

I dont know anything but as a player i prefer 2-5 hours because at every save/clean its always some lagg and its not funny if ur doing a quests or something ^^
