Demon Oak - what did I do wrong?

Hello Everyone.

I have a little problem with Demon Oak quest - I can't enter the area so I can't get hallowed axe from Oldrak. Any ideas how can I enter Demon Oak?
 
Go around the demon oak first (you need to step on some squares around it and messages from inside will appear in orange). If you do, enter it. Then leave and go to Oldrak with a normal axe and ask about the demon oak and then about axe. He should make a hallowed axe from it and you can enter the demon oak to use it on the tree.
