Hello,

My thread @discussion boards got deleted. And I would like to know the reason behind this. I have had similar threads to this one for the past years with no problems at all, I find it quite odd to see my thread vanished from nowhere.

I understand the 'advertising' part, but OriginalTibia is known to almost have everything discussed with it's players, even the ETA.

Kind regards,
Fribben.

I didn't delete it, but I saw the thread.

In all honesty, it looked much more like an advertisement than anything else.
It's got a release date and a website for people to register to.

Basically, to justify being in there, you need to discuss the development of your server up until it's finished.
It looks like you're already finished.

Hello Evan,

I appreciate the feedback. I will try to explain my problem as detailed as possible.

I have 2 servers, both on the same IP adress and it can easily and have already confused players to sign up to the lowrate server and not the server I am vouching them to sign up to. Therefore a direct link to the new server is hightlighted whilst lowrate is not.

Discussion threads speaks for itself. It's a place to discuss things, and if I want to discuss rates, and the ETA of my server, I do not see a problem doing so. Afterall, this is intergrating the community and making them speak to eachother. This is not only integrating the community of OTLand but it is actually recruiting new members to OTLand as it has a direct link to the discussion thread on my page which makes people from other pages join OTLand.

If the registration part "Register here" is a problem, I can remove it. But I do not see why it should be a problem discussing an upcoming server? Especially when I as a member of the OT community would like to put my interest in what the community wants the server to be shaped into. With this said - it is NOT finished if I do not know the most important parts of the server, the settings - eta (estimated time arrival), stages, rates, new features.

Without a doubt, and this is said with respect and not pride - my discussion thread is contributing to OTLand more than it ruins, and with this I mean new members and people integrating.

Kind regards,
Fribben.

We're trying to greatly differentiate the difference between a discussion thread and an advertisement thread.
We don't want to have a bunch of people coming to the Discussion board thinking it's okay to slightly advertise there as well.

Two of the key things that ultimately led your thread to deletion was the severe lack of information about your server and of course, the advertisement like the website and the registration. If you fix both of these things, you can have a discussion thread there.

To add a few tips to the two key things;

Many new features and fixes from the previous edition will be patched.
Conjuring runes through backpack will be one of these things.

Expand on this, not everyone knows about your previous edition.

Talk about the server too, what kind of quests do you have, what kind of monsters are there (custom, real Tibia, bosses).
Ask questions for people to provide feedback to you. ("Would you prefer to do A or would you prefer to do B?", etc).
How about some more pictures? Show something in your server that may stand out. Find a picture that will have people talking.
Remove any advertisement towards your server, don't include any IP or website (even the .com and registration link).

It's a discussion about the server as a whole, not about players choosing teams or creating a "I CAN'T WAIT" hype train.

I will PM you the thread "code" so you can go back and make the changes without totally losing anything.

Did you even take some time to read the sticky threads?

Hello Cbrm,

I did infact do that, as explained in previous post I explained why I wanted to differ our the address due to the confusion players have gone through.

But all of this is now solved and this thread can be closed.

I want to dedicate a special thank you for @Evan for great assistance.

Fribben.
