I CAN DO BETTER!
This is what I came up with.

Where comes the name "gemmed armor" ? xD cant see any Gems tho
and yea, u cud shade it.. and the shoulder pads look weird

Apply shadows and highlights, give it a bit more sparkle.

which also can be a conceptual idea may be to add tiny little gems here and there ?
