Gran Turismo 4 on ps2 help needed.

Okay here's the thing... I'm a beginner in gt4 and I was wondering if anyone here has played it and knows how to help me.

My problem is that I can't win the special conditions with my car that has 289 BHP. What do I need to do? Buy better engine? How can I make cash easy?

Ive heard that the game is rly hard

all my friends say its like twice as hard as the previous ones, but Ive never played it
