hard to get trusted Staff members ?

I have demoted 2 staff members in 2 days now . Is it so hard to get trusted staffs or what ?:S Or do I need to support all on my ot by my self haha ? :)
 
Solo work is tough, I know from experience. You should find someone to help you out with things asap.

My tip is: When you hire, don't try to dive new staff members right into the hard work, instead build them up with easier slower tasks so they get comfortable working with you. Also don't be too serious about things as it might give them the idea they're working together with a machine.
 
Solo work is not that hard, it's lengthy but not hard at all.
And I still prefer to work alone, can't trust much of these people on here.

I provide as much information about my server as possible, this avoids people spamming questions.
I try to keep my server as clean as possible, this avoids bugs and bug report spams.

here in Otland i wouldn't trust any staff i prefer to work alone and do the job finish it rather than being ruined my work.
 
If players believe that a GM is corrupt - he is.
If players believe that a GM is legit - he is.

Introduce some kind of GM transparency. I wrote a simple page so that players could read the command logs on the website for example. It was released here a long time ago, not sure if it is still kicking about.
You could do similar with an in-game command.

With a simple system like this, I found that it was less likely that a GM abuse his powers (as he would be scrutinized by the players) and also found that generally the players trusted the GM's more and were not so quick to 'question' what he was doing.
If a GM is to abuse his power, you would know about it pretty fast and be able to act accordingly.

Just a suggestion I guess, worked well for me =)
 
Solo is good until you get like 2-300 players then your head will explode lol take my word for it that its going to be hard, I have tried it.. make some friend of yours like gm or soemtng
 
This is one of the hardest things to get in OTS. They are also one of the most important aspects of any server. Good staff can make a server.
I've been through many staff members but we have come down to a couple of excellent ones.

My two cents are:
Don't go by just post count/reputation bars on forums, I've always had problems with 'popular' forum users.
I've had best experience with those who weren't trying to be staff and were content with their current position, but helped the server out as tutors/advisers.
I don't remember having much success with applications other then tutorship then working from there.
If you have a deep personal relationship with someone DO NOT MAKE THEM STAFF.
It's trial and error so keep trying.

Just my advise, it's probably not 100% accurate as nothing ever is but this is what I've figured from 4 years in OTS.

Simple idea Higher a a sttaff in Otland and ur server will be just fine!
