I've created this thread on swedish chatboard in swedish version but seems that it's dead there.. So this thread isn't that important at all in here i believe, just want to know by you (OTLanders) what it takes/needs to host an OTServer @Home, etc. Real-map(?)
That I'm most doubt on is what the diffrents between an Dediceted Server and own computer? If i have an computer that includes 12GB ram, i7 proccesor with 100/100 brandwith at home & an router that reaches 600mbps and so on...? Then would the OTServer have any laggs/kicks or crashes?
I really don't know if it is any idea to host @home.. If it is any idea then please can you tell me any advice on what it takes/needs?

Like:
*Which Router should i use?
*Specifics on the computer?
*Network/brandwith speed & company? (keep in mind only swedish companys)
*And so on!

Please guys, I don't want any unnecessary posts! It might be nuubie about this thread but please keep your posts relevant to the thread!!

ok first of all, having a gigabit router on a 100/100 connection won't be any different from a regular 10/100 router on a 100/100 connection, because you can't hit speeds over 100, so 600 is a waste ;)

router - you have a good enough one no doubt
computer - if you have that computer why would you need any different?
network (BANDwidth not BRANDwidth) - 100/100 is far more than you'll ever need
and so on - i don't understand this thread at all...

also, dude... this is a request for support, not discussion =/
 
I wanted to know if it necassery to hire a dedicted server if you can host at home.. that's all.. and haha in swedish its called "Bredband" so sorry, my mistake and yeah i didnt know where to put this thread also im sorry for that. Thanks for you help then mate!
