Help switching to linux!

I am wanting to switch to linux because from what i hear its a more stable host for games. I was wondering what all i will need to do to convert from windows server 2003 to a linux server. The steps i will have to take, things i will need to re-download, and any other thing that might be involved.

i am using naxed ot with tfs 3.6

ask questions for any addistion info. i would really like to learn how to do this today. Thank you.
