Linux hosting with linux

Hey

could someone explain how to host with linux? How does it work? Is it easy to learn? Do I need to have my own self-made distro or does an average TFS distro work?

How about googling some linux tutorials and seeing for yourself how you feel with that.

As for your last question - there are no precompiled binaries for linux distros, so you will have to compile them yourself - it's actually easy. TFS has a tutorial in docs/README .

Okay, but one last question - if I were to get a binary, lets say a random real map server (no, I won't actually lol) how would I get it onto the VPS/dedicated server? Same with AAC site.

I also read there are some tutorials on getting it started here.

The easiest way would be to upload them all using WinSCP
