If you're using a website, use UniServer instead of XAMPP, and protect your database with a password.

Hi killing I have other ideas for protecting your server.
1) Download last xampp 1.8.1 [with enabled php safe mode]
2) Make pass
3) Delete user 'pma'
4) use znote accmaker / or / gesior latest version
5) delete account manager
6) use powerful passwords for administrator account at site and all gms and gods.
7) Delete /shutdown command for access /6

Make sure that your MySQL port is not open(3306). Do not use phpmyadmin and make sure that your root user is set to local host only
