Mapping by Strawberry =)

Honestly shape doesn't matter. It's not like when your playing in game your gonnna stop and say man this shape of this map sucks balls im qutting. You can barely notice the shape of things, and I doubt when ingame your gonna waste your time looking at the shape of the map.

I'm trying to learn him the difference between Raw and Doodad, will you guys please stop the complaining? Noone said that Raw looks better than Doodad but, hes last picture could use some better raw work.
 
The first one is in the raw pallet, of course. Because of the shape of the river, look at that, much better, can't u see it?
Just try to do the same thing with the auto border...
 
He's just beginning mapping, later on in the future he will understand and get the hang of it. You cannot force success into him, he has to learn it on his own. Everyone has their specific ways of mapping, nobody maps exactly the same. Only time will teach him.

So giving him advices, pictures, questions to solve won't help him to speed up abit you think?

Maybe, maybe not. Showing him pictures could lead to him just copying everything that he sees. He hasn't respond yet, so how do you know the pictures are helping him. Eventually he will get better on his own and find his way of mapping. Just keep giving him constructive criticism and he'll eventually learn. Don't just say on Doodad pallets suck, just use the raw pallet and your map will be super best (basically how your putting it). He shouldn't be forced into mapping the way you guys map, let me do what he wants and see where he'll end up.

Where did I say that doodad palette sucks? I'm trying to learn him the difference between Raw and Doodad palette.
He said he used Raw on the last picture he posted but that's possible to make without Raw so I'm trying to learn him what's raw for and how to make it look like raw.

It seems like your trying to change his style of mapping.
