... being creative is a must when creating maps... no shit...

how do you manage to get a few great concepts implemented in your mapping ? how do you keep yourself on task and not getting bored with your current piece ...
how does one stick to a project and keep a good pace without cutting any corners :|

that's what I'd like to know because I'm thinking of starting a mapping project ... considering I have so much time on my hands and I always wanted to get a pretty nice rpg server going.

I'm just not sure how to create a pretty damn good map without cutting of the corners ... don't want to take the easy way but I just get bored easily lol,
I have to try a new approach because ... well, I am not able to smoke before every mapping session anymore ...

I tend to learn from CipSoft, I look at examples from their map and learn that way.

I started mapping around 7.5 and mine pieces wasnt that bad they arent good but i still could remember some pieces wich doesnt look overfucked yes overfucked its hard to get overdetailed in 7.5 but whatever it was hard since i didnt knew where i had to start with so i started by a road but how does that look like so i was browsing the shit and i was looking in thais so i made my first path after getting the editor from my head or at least almost i just map want i wanted to map after a lot of tries and fun i keep getting better and better sometimes i retire from it but i return back again and i learned it very fast wich was mine way.

@Sizaro I've done that a lot xD

Or looking at concept art from some games, like Fable 2 LCE edition disc had alot of concept art that I integrated with my mapping, and music helps alot.
