I thought of this idea, so we at least let those fat nerds out there who just open a downloaded real-map server or an evolution ones start using their mind, which is a piece of stone.
The idea is just great, it will force people to start using their minds. Instead of the ready-and-run server, any Mod approving whatever released should delete some basic stuff on the OT, which will lead to whoever download it to search around on Otland on how to get the server completed, and to find missing scripts, or even create him on his own. For example, a switch script is not included, but instead there's a TXT file which says where he should get this working, so he start his way from there, that txt file leads him to some tutorials about the switch to open door or to remove a stone for example. (The script was just an example, it would be better to do it with something more basic, like where the new character spawn, that he has to change temple position in phpmyadmin/login.lua - common scripts, (the popular scripts), where he should start from the very beginning of Lua scripting, to start making a door opens using a switch on his own. Why do we make life easier for them? while whoever worked on real-map, evolution and others did some great job to get it on this Quality, why we let them take the server at once and start spamming our boards asking stupid question which was answered more than 3 years ago.. they can't even use search function.. I know why there are bunch noobs nowadays, its because the mass server releases, tons of servers are released, this is what mainly got all of us on this situation, we all know it.
We should let them use their minds, not just giving them the server Baked, and all what they have to do is to eat it. They will never know how this was created on the first place. we should force-give them basics. I know this is just normal forum, but we all know the fact, bunch of noobs, retarded people around, wasting forum space on useless questions. We give them basics, and let them open whatever they want then. A test? who knows. To be able to download some server, you should pass the BASIC TEST at least, and for sure no hard questions, no google to find the answers. Just normal questions about the OTS. How to create a switch, how to create gate of experience, how to use search function, bunch of basic questions, but sadly, basic for those who gave their time in creating servers and release them. but not for the 75% rest on Otland.
Conclusion;
Will start with the main idea in my head, it will finally erase any mentally retarded member on otland.
To access the download section, he has to answer basic questions, where he can start learning about basic LUA on the tutorial section, every test he pass, he gets Points, which allows him to download a certain folder inside a server, lets say Action folder, on that Action folder, he has to look on it to know the answers of the other Questions to be able to download another folder, and so on. by the end of the Test, he will know 90% of what's needed to be known to run OTS, from zero knowledge to someone who can run OT and create the basic scripts for real.. ENOUGH WITH THE SPAMMING, HOW TO MAKE SWITCH, HOW TO MAKE DOORS, HOW TO MAKE GOD. seriously when someone reaches a certain point of stupidity, people like me should rage. (and I mean with stupidity the way how you act, to ask questions that only shows you're here to get cash, and to leave, you dont put an effort, just paying for your dedicated, and tada im a millionaire)
This how it should go, Learn OTS Basics ----> Get Points ---> Getting your hands on some TFS folders, and not the whole server ---> See what the files talking about ---> Get points again to get your OT ready.
I know I spoke so much, but well. this what Otland brought me to.
