Notepad++ Comparison Plugin

I was reading a thread in support where files needed to be replaced from 1 distro to another and thought could notepad++ compare 2 files, so I did a search on the web for a step by step.

Then I came across this plugin, this should really come with the default install
You can download it here http://sourceforge.net/projects/npp-compare/

Installation is fairly simple just close out notepad++ and unzip the ComparePlugin.v1.5.6.2.bin.zip
copy the 'ComparePlugin.dll' file then navigate to the
Program Files\Notepad++\plugins
directory and paste

To use just open up the files you want to compare, click on Plugins > Compare > Compare
On the right is the navigation bar, just click on the highlighted area to see where in the files are different.

Found another program, also open source called WinMerge which does relatively the same thing but it works on directories and files.
This is a stand alone application tho
