The reason for this decision was because we do not want Otland to become a market-place filled by people seeking to sell/buy stuff. It is also possible that it can lead to scam/hacking, flaming and we want to prevent that. Nonetheless it became annoying for most of the people on Otland...

Then the rule is quite pointless.

For example you cannot buy a map, but mappers are allowed to post their paid services in the Job section? That's basically buying a map.

But what I was trying to say was the rule says selling/buying maps is forbidden, not offering your paid services.

Lets think for a moment.
Is it the same "Sell map" than "I want to be your mapper for 5 EUR/month"? It is not, and it is not basically selling a map. Its a service that you are making.

People posts "hi i sell map yes" on every part of the forum. While the correct way is "I'm a good mapper, want me to join in your team? only ~price~!" in jobs section.

That's the difference. Job is a job. And a map is the product of the job.

It's the same thing if I go to the store and buy an already made computer, or I pay someone to build me a custom one from scratch. I'm still buying a computer...
 
Read Xenios' post better. We do not allow ready map pieces because Otland is neither ebay nor a merchandising website. However, since there's a Jobs section we do allow paid services but only inside the Jobs section. Some people would require you to pay them 5€ for their mapping service but other people might require 100€ for a completed piece of map. The amount of loss is way different in each scenario in case you get scammed (that was an example). Learn the difference between a product and a service. That's basics of economics.
 
I know the difference, but Archez was offering his services which was deleted. Then you gave him that rule saying that's the reason why his post was deleted but now your saying you can post your services in of the job section. You changed your view on this several different times.

His thread was made @ 'Large Art' (As archez stated), and we're talking that you are allowed to sell/provide your services @ the 'Job' section. Please learn to read collzie.

I know how to read, don't be a jackass. It could of simply been moved to the job section.

Anyway, this thread should be closed now. His thread was undeleted, and the moderators made their point clear.
