OtServ news has been running for years. Though DeathfireD has been inactive with posting new news. Therefore I am stepping in. I am your new journalist. That's correct. I will be posting news of the OtServ community from now on. Bookmark this page to make sure you don't miss out

About OTserv News
OTserv News was inspired by Tibia news and a number of other game news sites. As you already know this site offers a way for users such as you to submit news about OTserv, Distro development, web scripts, server news and more. We do try to keep the news as global as possible. This means if someone submits a news bit about OTserv CVS being update and another submits news about his OTserv, we will of course pick the OTserv develop news first.

So with that said I hope to start getting some news going and possibly implementing more to the site within the month. BTW Im DeathfireD and I will be the admin of this site. You may already know me for my past projects and sites for OTserv and Tibia. Projects such as OTserv List, OTserv Server Chk, OTserv Url Protocol, The Dark Age (TDA) and so on.

Q. Why OTserv news?
A. Why not?

Q. Can I submit news?
A. Why yes, just click the red "Submit News" button on the home page. Also if you dont want your name taken you can Register it.

Q. Why is my news not showing?
A. When you submit a news bit its saved and hidden till an Admin or Editor varifys the news bit is good. This can take anywhere from 1 hour to 2 days.

Q. Can I help in anyway?
A. Yes, we are alwase looking for help. Submit news, make buttons, code features, get the word on the street anything like that will help us

Q. Can you add in "random idea here" to the site?
A. We are alwase open to new ideas so if you have a suggestion or two feel free to post it on our forum in the sugestion board.

Q. I get an error on the page what do I do?
A. Report it on the forum under bug report

Q. Are you looking for new editors?
A. At the moment no. I will grab a few trusted people from diffrent communitys soon to keep it fair. If at any time we need new or more editors I will be sure to post about it on the forums or main site.

Q. So whats next?
A. In the OT world? Who knows I come up with new ideas everyday..most of which get copyed but im sure Ill come up with somthing new in a few months.

Q. Hows the Pic of the day work?
A. To make it fair for all OTserv users since the community is so large we will accept all images uploaded. Each image uploaded that day will be saved in a folder. On the main page the pic of the day will be randomly picked from the folder for that day. So each time you visit the site a new pic will be shown. When the day is over the images for the last day will be deleted and new images will be shown depending on whats uploaded. If no images are uploaded then the default image will be shown.

Q. How do I submit news?
A. You can do it 2 ways. Submit using the big red button on the main page that says "Submit News", this dosnt not require you to register at all or if your registered you can login. There you will see a new page with "Title", "Catagory", "Short news", "Long news". So you type in the title of your news bit, pick the catagory it belongs in, then you type in your short news big into the "Short news" box. If for some reason your news is long and could take over more then one page then please only write a short blerb in the short news then past the full story in the "Full news" spot. This will help keep the main page clean.

Q. How do I submit articles on the right bar?
A. There is no real way at the moment. Right now Ill just add things people post on the forum or on other communitys and of course give them credit. Possibly later on Ill allow people to add to the list.

Q. Where did the pages of news go? Theres only one page left!?
A. To keep the news as neat as possible we auto archive the news once at the end of each month. To view last months news just click the Archives link. Then pick the month you wish to view.

Q. The site looks outdated lols
A. This will improve over time. At the moment the main focus is to post news and raise some cash to purchase the domain.
