Try blocking all ICMP-traffic, that helped me atleast.
You could still get PINGED by some people, I could PING myself from my webserver, but still blocks most people.

Are you using Linux or Windows? If you're using Linux, try DDoS-Deflate and drop all empty and ICMP packages using IPTables

Damn that tutorial was really good helped me i think
when i try to ping my own host name having the ping block on it doesnt work when i remove it it does work to ping me so i think it helped a big thx
