They are "Cool Points" you start with 1000 and it goes up or down depending on how cool you are.

Pretty impressive, I have never seen someone lose -917 Cool Points so quickly.

These points are trophy points, you get them by getting trophies.
By the moment you can see the available trophies here: http://otland.net/help/trophies. Maybe they'll get updated in the future, by now you only need to know that these points only show how many trophies you have and that they are not coins.
