Solved Port forwarding gone wrong!

Hey Guys,

I'm having ALOT of trouble with my port forwarding. I've hosted a few OTs in the past and have had no trouble with this whatsoever, I'm not quite sure what I'm doing wrong this time round though.

I've port forwarded port 80,7171 and 7172 using my default gateway (192.168.1.1). This is how I've always done it and it's always worked. However when I've done it this time round it hasn't worked. I checked on the VAPus "can I host" tool and it shows as blocked on that as well.

So then I went to plan B. Instead of using my Default Gateway IP address (192.168.1.1), I port forwarded using my IPv4 address (192.168.1.32). I checked on the VAPus tool again. And it works... Everything is green. However, considering I don't know too much about routing and what not, I'm a little confused.

I've redirected my global IP address to work with a No-ip.org address. That is all set up okay. However when I go to that address, it takes me to my router login page. I've never encountered that before. This is when there is no port 80 port forwarded or when it has been forwarded using the default gateway (192.168.1.1).

When I Port forward using my IPv4 address (192.168.1.32) it jumps to the other extreme and nothing loads at all. It's just comes up with Google Chrome could not connect to the address.

Any ideas as to what it is I'm doing wrong?

I don't really understand what your problem is. Well you should use your IPv4 address to open your ports, not your gateway. Also your are talking about port 80, so you have a site that isn't working?

Ahah okay I've just realized I've mixed myself up a little. So you ARE supposed to use the IPv4 address when you port forward. Okay, so that's all fine, I've done that and they are showing as open on VAPus.

I do have a site that I'm hosting using The Uniform Server, when I type in my IP address it doesn't load though.
Also when I put my IP address in my IP changer and put my details into the client it says "Could not resolve server name"

So yeah, Limos, my site isn't working :c
Edit: It all shows fine when I use "localhost" by the way - apart from in game. If I use 127.0.0.1 It loads the character list but then I get a connection timeout

Be sure you use your IPv4 address to log in your server and your site. Only other people can log in using your global ipaddress and your no-ip.org address.

I don't suppose you know any way around that or why that is? I've used a few AAC's with a No-ip address and they always used to load same with on my IP changer I think.

Again I don't really understand your question. You mean why you should use your IPv4 address? Well because you opened your ports with it and to connect directly to the router. And your second line... You used a few accounts with a no-ip adres? so you made more no-ipaddresses? and they always worked when you tried to log in? but what does this have to do with anything? :p

No sorry, I meant why is it that I can't access my website using my No-ip address but other people would be able to?

Because you opened your ports with your IPv4 address, so its kinda the way from your computer to your router, not sure how else to explain. But ye, other people can acces your website using your no-ip address (global ipaddress).
Btw, tell me if you still got any problems.
